Chapter 1613: The Trump Cards

[Unedited Chapter]

------

As soon as Ying Zheng escaped, he immediately noticed the enormous black hand in the distance. His heart skipped a beat just by the horrifying aura of that black palm. He then watched as countless escaped from the black door and were shot down by the Hong Protective System.

A frown showed up on his face when he saw a few of these lights landing on Qin, and maybe even the Ancestral Dragon City. His first instinct was to use divination to understand what was happening, but he stopped himself after realizing the power involved might cause a backlash. The last thing he needed was to be injured in the midst of this crucial fight.

Something occurred to him, and Ying Zheng glanced in the direction of the Ten Thousand Buddha Haven. He secretly sighed in relief after seeing no reaction or change. ’The pendant’s effect should not be this effective.’ The appearance of the black gate was beyond all his predictions, divinations, and calculations, meaning its presence should have disturbed his previous arrangement.

’I guess I should thank Heavenly Dao, but time should be running out,’ Ying Zheng thought.

"What? Worried your actions will finally catch up to you?" Wu Hong sneered.

Ying Zheng calmly glanced at her: "You people are afraid of Maitreya — I am not." 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Just like everyone who practices the Sovereign Dao, pride and arrogance will be your downfall," Wu Hong shook her head. "If you’re not worried about her, what about your general?"

Ying Zheng briefly frowned. Song Jiang’s return and Wang Wei’s quick reaction had indeed shifted the situation, but he wasn’t too worried. Bai Qi would know what to do. Sadly, Ying Zheng didn’t have this thought for too long as he watched the annihilation of the Terracotta General. He wanted to intervene, but an aura locked on him.

Ying Zheng clenched his fists. He created the puppet and Bai Qi in his second life in the Upper Zone World using his Grandmist Wheel. Due to his paranoia, he did not dare use the spirit granted to him by Hongjun, so he thought he could better control them if they were first Creation Lifeforms. Unfortunately, his meddling made the spirits useless, and it wasn’t until he reincarnated into the Eternal Ascension World that they started showing their potential.

Bai Qi broke the limitations of a Creation Lifeform and became a Primal. Meanwhile, the puppet fused with the Qin Dynasty and essentially became its guardian. The reason that Qin has a reputation for being impenetrable was a combination of their Luck Array, the Great Wall, and the Terracotta General.

Thinking about the price he’ll have to pay to make another protector almost popped a vein in Ying Zheng’s forehead. The only good news is that the exchange list made it possible to recreate something so unique. Otherwise, this loss would have been permanent.

"So much for fate’s favour," Wu Hong taunted.

A small black hole appeared next to Ying Zheng’s fist before he exhaled deeply. "I’ve had enough of you, so let’s end this."

"The feeling’s mutual."

A ruthless light flashed in Ying Zheng’s eyes before a beautiful butterfly jade pendant slowly manifested above his head. The pendant was ethereal and graceful, and with one glance, anyone would believe it contained all the secrets of the Dao. The pendant trembled slightly before releasing an intense green light that enveloped a significant portion of the Void Battlefield.

The Butterfly Princess’s cherubic face and devilish body slowly manifested from the light, replacing the pendant. She warmly looked at Ying Zheng, but the latter’s focus was on this transformation. He summoned the dynasty’s Qu Luck Dragon, which transformed into a white headband. Under his control, the Butterfly Princess fused with the headband, leaving butterfly symbols. A terrifying aura that caught the attention of all powerhouses in the world was released from Ying Zheng’s body as soon as he put the headband on.

Ying Zheng used the Manipulation Aspect of his Dao to use Fate Dao and bless his sword. As he swung his weapon, its power attempted to alter Wu Hong’s fate and erase all the methods she had used to activate her seals. However, she sneered and responded in kind.

She also used the Control Aspect of her Dao to use Order-Disorder Dao, and changed the rules of the Void Battlefield. If one person could not use extraordinary means to use Transcendent Power, no one can. Such a spell forced Ying Zheng to stop his attack, allowing Wu Hong to go on the offensive.

A rain of needles suddenly manifested above Ying Zheng, and they dropped on him at an unparalleled speed. His expression became grave because he noticed these needles contained Stamina Seals. His headband allowed him to divert the backlash of utilizing the pendant’s power to the Qin itself — to the dynasty’s luck.

However, unlike when Ying Zheng used the artifact for normal divination or scheming against others, there is a price to be paid when he uses it for battle. These consequences ranged from his [Existence] collapsing, to severe injury to his soul, and back to the issue of Primals when using high-tier Grand Construct Skills: poor stamina.

[Dragon Protection Cloud]

A purple cloud materialized above Ying Zhengb’s blocking the needless, which suddenly combined into a colossal-sized rune. This rune was marvelous as it combined all aspects of draining and stamina. As long as it hits, this fight will be over. Ying Zheng will be too weak to use the Transcendent Power of his pendant, and he will be at the mercy of Wu Hong.

However, the great ruler of Qin remained calm. His cloud suddenly turned into a multicolored rainbow before releasing a beam that instantly pierced through the rune.

’He found the flaw? How is that possible?’ Wu Hong thought for a second before remembering something. The jade pendant was an artifact whose primary ability was to record all laws and Daos. With enough information about these laws, the artifact can see through the almost imperceivable flaws of her seal and target them.

’If this were any other time, I would love to use this opportunity to improve,’ Wu Hong thought. Her flawed Dao Quintessence was her greatest piece of work, and any opportunity to improve it is a dream come true. Sadly, time was running out.
