Chapter 102 A Peek at the Blueprints
Regina’s eyes widened, and she staggered back, nearly collapsing onto the couch. “No… How could that be possible?”
“If you don’t believe me, go to the police station and see for yourself,” Nancy said, her expression cold yet unwaveringly sincere.
Regina’s heart sank. After a long silence, she finally spoke. “He… He must have just lost his way for a moment. I’ll make him apologize to you, Nancy. Please, let Fergie go. I promise I’ll teach him a proper lesson.”
“I’m sorry, but I no longer see him as my brother. And please don’t come looking for me again,
Nancy replied, her voice devoid of emotion.
With that, Nancy turned and left the reception room.
Regina remained seated on the couch, staring after Nancy’s resolute figure until it disappeared. A sharp pain pierced her chest, and only after a long while did she shakily rise and leave the office building.
When Regina got home, she found Raine in tears.
“Mom, Nancy and Mr. Moore said terrible things about me. They don’t want me anymore.” Raine spoke between sobs.
“How could this be…” Regina’s eyes went blank, the string of bad news leaving her completely drained.
After a while, Raine wiped her tears and asked, “Mom, I can’t reach Fergie. Where is he?”
“The police took him in,” Regina said with her eyes closed. “He sent people to… hurt Nancy. Raine, did you know about this?”
Raine’s eyes widened in shock. “Mom, who told you that? Nancy? How could you believe her? Fergie would never do such a thing! Let’s go to the police station right now!”
Regina’s face tightened with conflict, but after a long pause, she finally nodded.
Clinging to that last shred of hope, she rushed to the police station. The officer spotted her and immediately explained Fergus‘ crime.
“He brought two thugs to harass a young woman. Thankfully, a kind stranger stepped in.

Otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable!”
“Fergie would never do such a thing! This has to be a misunderstanding!” Raine protested.
Regina’s legs went weak, and she clutched a chair for support.

Fergus had always been a good man. How could he have suddenly become someone so vicious?
Meanwhile, Nancy was at her desk at Duran Corporation when a call from Martha came through.
“I heard about Fergus,” Martha said.
Nancy set her work aside, lowering her eyes in thought. A wave of conflict rose within her. Fergus was Martha’s grandson, regardless of what he’d done. Could she really just let him go to prison?
“You handled it well,” Martha stated.
Nancy’s heart trembled. “Grandma, aren’t you angry?”
“I am angry.” Martha’s voice was frigid. “That scumbag tried to harm you. I’ve already stripped Fergus of his inheritance! Nancy, you did the right thing. You must never tolerate that kind of behavior!”
Since Nancy joined the Lidell family, the only one who had genuinely stood by her was the stern Martha.
“Thank you, Grandma,” Nancy said with a smile.
“You don’t need to thank me,” Martha replied, her voice somber and laced with disgust. “It’s my fault for not raising him properly and for spoiling him until he believed he was above the law. Anyway, are you confident about this clothing design competition?”
“If my opponent is Raine… Then, yes. I’m very confident,” Nancy answered.
Martha seemed to be amused. “Sounds like you’re sure of yourself. Very well. I’ll be waiting to see your outstanding performance.”
Not long after the call ended, Hannah walked into Nancy’s office. “Ms. Moore, someone sent you
another cake!”
Nancy glanced at the simple yet elegant cake and immediately knew it was from Martha. Her heart warmed at the sight. “Share it with everyone, but save me a slice.”
“You got it!” Hannah said, already cutting into the cake.
Being Nancy’s subordinate meant enjoying delicious cake all the time. This was a fact almost

too good to be true.
The hot summer soon passed. Fergus was released from the police station and kept a low profile for a while.
Meanwhile, Nancy and her design team successfully launched their new clothing line. It was their best work yet, and the office buzzed with laughter and excitement.
This left Raine’s designers puzzled.
What was happening? Shouldn’t Nancy’s team have been stressed and discouraged?
Why were they so cheerful?
When Raine arrived at the office, one of the designers close to her quietly explained the unusual atmosphere in Nancy’s department.
