Chapter 121 Raine Set Nancy Up

The audience members studied the two gowns, searching for minor differences. But after a while, they realized the two outfits were exactly the same.

“Am I seeing things? Aren’t those two outfits identical?”

“Yeah, they’re the exact same. Did someone grab the wrong outfit?”

“That can’t be right. They’re two separate teams. How could they mix them up?”

Everyone looked puzzled, and many started asking Regina and Andrew what was going on. But neither of them had any answers.

Regina quickly called Raine, who also sounded confused at first. Then, she suddenly asked in disbelief, “Mom, could it be that Nancy copied my design?”

“What?” Regina’s vision went black for a moment.

Fergus was right beside her, and he overheard what Raine said. His face turned gloomy as he snapped with open disgust, “I knew it. She was so adamant about her choice of outfit, but it turns out she’d already planned to rip it off. She’s so shameless!”

Thinking someone like that was his sister made him sick to his stomach.

Regina’s hands trembled. “I’ll ask Nancy directly.”

She stood and went backstage, just in time to see Nancy walking out with the designers. Looking at Nancy’s flawless, striking face, her hand shook as she raised it uncontrollably.

“Mrs. Lidell!” Hannah protested sharply.

But before her hand could reach Nancy’s face, her wrist was caught in midair.

Nancy was slightly taller. She looked down at Regina coolly. “What exactly are you trying to do?”

“Are you really that clueless?” Regina was furious and hurt. “On such an important occasion, how dare you plagiarize Raine’s work? Everyone saw it. Do you even realize what this does to Lidell Group’s name?”

“I plagiarized Raine’s work? Do you have proof?” Nancy snapped, releasing her grip so hard that Regina nearly stumbled to the floor.

Regina looked at her in shock. She was stunned that Nancy would treat her like that.

“If it wasn’t you, are you saying that Raine copied your work?” Regina clutched her chest, still reeling. “Nancy, apologize to Raine right now! Explain this to everyone! How could I ever have

a…”

She cut herself off before the word “daughter” could slip out.

The thought only hardened her resolve. No one could ever know that Nancy was her biological child. That would be humiliating beyond repair.

“Mrs. Lidell, you’re ridiculous.” Hannah sneered. “You don’t even know the facts, yet you’re already condemning her.”

“Forget it. Let’s head to the stage,” Nancy said. At the final moment, the designers and models needed to present their collection together.

They walked onto the runway one by one.

Standing between her two models, Nancy’s poised, striking beauty drew audible gasps from

the crowd.

“Is Nancy that stunning?”

“Have you just found out? I saw her at a piano competition before. With that face, she could make it big in the entertainment industry.”

“But what about those outfits? Don’t tell me she actually copied someone else’s work.”

The audience members whispered among themselves.

Then, one voice suddenly rang out. “These two outfits are exactly the same. Don’t you owe us an explanation?”

The room fell silent. Even the host looked uneasy.

At that moment, Raine’s eyes filled with tears as she took the microphone from the host. ” Please don’t misunderstand. This outfit was designed by me and Nancy together, which is why

both of our models can wear it.”

Her words said one thing, but her teary eyes told another story. It was like she was enduring some great injustice. That pitiful look immediately tugged at Fergus’ heart.

Andrew had mixed feelings, but he thought Raine was being sensible. This was the best way to resolve things.

“Cut the crap!” Fergus shot to his feet. “Raine, you don’t have to cover for her. It was she who copied you, wasn’t it?
