Chapter 16 Raine Being Sarcastic

Nancy fell silent.

Her lips twitched as she remarked, “I have no idea you’re such a smooth talker.”

Gideon looked straight at her. “I’ve always thought so.”

His gaze was burning, causing Nancy to look away’ instinctively.

The air conditioning was strong, and when she rubbed her arms, Gideon instantly draped his suit jacket over her shoulders. The warmth mixed with his subtle cedarwood scent made her feel unexpectedly warm. She looked up at him in surprise.

“Don’t catch a cold,” he reminded.

Nancy’s eyes flickered.

She had thought he was a cold and ruthless man, but he kept looking out for her throughout the meal.

Meanwhile, tension simmered elsewhere.

Midway through dinner, Raine suddenly received a call from Rebecca. “Raine, the company just called off your spokesperson deal!”

“What happened? Was there a reason?” Raine gripped her phone. This was her biggest deal yet.

“No reason was given. It must be that bitch!” Rebecca snapped through gritted teeth. “Nancy Moore’s deliberately sabotaging me!” “Nancy?” Raine was stunned.

“Yes! She’s the general manager, ranked higher than me!” Rebecca fumed, clearly resentful.

After the call ended, Fergus asked what had happened. When he heard the story, he was furious, too.

“I can’t believe the bitch canceled your spokesperson deal using her power. She’s gone too far!” Fergus immediately stood up. Raine asked anxiously, “Fergie, what will you do?”

“They should be finishing soon. If we send photos of them to her sugar daddy’s wife, she’s done for!” he announced coldly.

Raine was excited inwardly, but she still asked, “Isn’t that harsh? Won’t that ruin her future?”

“She deserves this! Raine, don’t be too kind, or you’ll just get bullied over and over again,” Fergus gazed at her worriedly.

Raine replied coquettishly, “That’s because I know you’ll always have my back, right?”

“You’re right about that. They should be done soon. Let’s go keep an eye on them.” Fergus sneered.

“Fergie, is this Nancy’s sugar daddy?” Raine was shocked and even a little jealous.

“Yes, I’ve seen him previously, but I can’t be sure of it,” he replied.

Raine said, “I think we could be wrong. Why would a handsome guy be Nancy’s sugar daddy?”

Suddenly, Fergus‘ eyes lit up with a realization. “I get it! Maybe this guy is Nancy’s kept man. She’s got a sugar daddy and a boy toy? That’s just gross!”

With that, he pulled out his phone. “Let’s take a photo first. I’ll make sure to find her sugar daddy later.”

The moment he pulled out his phone, Gideon’s gaze swept over him. Fergus felt a chill run down his spine, and he subconsciously concealed himself.

“Rats can be annoying–Do you want me to help you get rid of them?” Gideon raised a brow, his dark eyes locking on hers, deep and tempting.
