Kneel Down to Win Back the Heiress Queen novel Chapter 173

Chapter 173 Fergus Flatters Nancy

Martha walked up to the Lidells, shaking with anger as she pointed at them. “You people are truly blind and foolish! Completely clueless!”

“Martha!” Regina trembled, immediately pulling Martha aside, whispering, “Please don’t say it, or Raine will never be able to show her face in public again!”

Martha was so enraged that her chest began to hurt. She pushed Regina away and turned to face

everyone.

Raine tried to stop her, but it was already too late. Martha’s next words descended like a sledgehammer. “Nancy is the real daughter of the Lidell family. Raine is just an adopted daughter!”

Raine’s world went dark, and she almost collapsed.

The guests instantly began murmuring.

“Wow! So all this time, she was just occupying someone else’s spot!”

“How can Raine still act so entitled? I’ve never met anyone so shameless in my life!”

“What’s going on with the Lidells? Why are they all protecting Raine?”

“Can’t you see? They think Raine is more outstanding, but to me, she’s just a fake. Nancy seems so much more genuine. At least Martha’s clear-headed.”

Nancy walked up to Martha’s side. “Grandma, what are you doing here?”

Martha snapped, “If I hadn’t come, how would I have known how outrageous they were being?”

Nancy calmly reassured her, “Grandma, please don’t get angry. It’s bad for your health.”

Martha took a deep breath, suppressed her fury, and gently stroked Nancy’s hand. “Alright, I’ll listen to you. They’re not worth getting upset over.”

Nancy smiled slightly. “That’s more like it. You need to stay healthy and live a long life.”

“I will,” Martha said warmly.

“Martha.” Yelena came over at this moment. “You’re here! It’s a shame that Raine ruined the cake. I’ll have someone bring in another one so you can have a piece, too!”

“Sure,” Martha said, looking at Yelena, happy that Nancy had such a good friend.

Before she could send someone to get another cake, a waiter pushed in a huge cake on a cart, this time a pink one, adorned with a giant bow. It looked beautiful and luxurious.

“Ms. Moore, happy birthday. This is the cake prepared by Mr. Fu-” the waiter started before quickly

correcting himself. “Your friend prepared this cake for you.”

Nancy couldn’t help but smile. “Thank you, and I appreciate the effort.”

Yelena breathed a sigh of relief. Thankfully, Gideon had also prepared a cake, so this birthday banquet wasn’t completely ruined. “Nancy, go ahead and cut the cake again. Security, please escort the Lidell family out!”

Raine was completely stunned.

Thrown out of the hotel, she and the other Lidells shivered in the cold wind, none of them taking the initiative to speak as reality sank in.

Nancy didn’t just have friends like Yelena from powerful families. She had other wealthy

connections, too. And that cake must have cost a fortune! Had they really made a mistake somewhere?

“You’re unbelievably stupid!” Andrew couldn’t hold it in any longer and slapped Regina across the

face.

Tears spilled instantly as Regina crumpled to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.

Andrew shot her a cold look. “I’ve told you before that Mom’s sharp! I wonder if you’ll finally come to your senses after this.”

After that, he looked at Raine with a dark gaze.

Raine finally snapped out of her daze, only to find herself under everyone’s complicated stares. Her heart plummeted.

She was doomed. Not only had she failed to drive a wedge between Yelena and Nancy, but now, Martha had exposed who she really was.

How would she still survive in Riversdale from now on?

Why would Martha be so heartless as to expose her in public?

Since it had come to this, she wouldn’t be soft-hearted anymore. After all, she was in control of Martha’s life!

She quickly composed herself, meeting Andrew’s gaze, and started crying. “Dad, it’s all my fault. I thought I could get Yelena to see the truth, but then Grandma suddenly stepped in. She’s so cruel!

“If it weren’t for me, she never would’ve had Dr. Gales come down for her, yet she still treats me like this.”
