“Are you sure? My company is pretty small. Wouldn’t your talent be wasted here?” Nancy asked.

I don’t care. I’ll still be your spokesperson even if it’s an unknown company. How can I let others bully you? Let’s sign the contract already,” Hillary urged firmly.

Nancy chuckled. “Okay. Thanks a lot.”

“But it’ll probably take a few days for the filming to wrap up. There are a few things that still need to be settled,” Hillary said.

“Don’t worry about it. It’s not urgent,” Nancy replied.

In no time, the two came to an agreement. Nancy sent the contract over as soon as she had prepared it.

The next day, Nancy bumped into a familiar figure on a call as she was heading out. Seeing her, Gideon mouthed the words, “Do you want a ride?”

Nancy pursed her lips gently, recalling Ian’s warning. While she pondered whether to turn the offer down, Gideon ended the call and said, “Your dad and I are business competitors. But between us, it’s purely personal.

“You’re not going to let a business rivalry influence your opinion of me, are you?”

“I’m curious as to why you picked me to be your friend?” Nancy was desperate to know.

Gideon smirked and said, “You’re talented and beautiful. Anyone would want to befriend someone like that.

“Between us, we can only be either friends or enemies–nothing in between. Don’t tell me you want us to be enemies.”

Nancy fell silent for a moment before prompting,

Gideon was right. With their identities, they were better off as friends rather than enemies.

Nancy arrived at the office on time. The first thing on her agenda was a meeting. The only difference was that Rebecca was already in the conference
