Chapter 52 Biased Mother

Something flickered in Nancy’s eyes as soon as she learned that Raine was involved. It seemed like the lunch gathering today wouldn’t be a simple one.

After finding out the truth, Nancy wanted nothing to do with the Lidell family. However, Raine had been causing trouble for everyone over and over again. To the Lidells‘ dismay, Nancy was no pushover who would clean up after her.

“Sure. I’ll go,” Nancy replied calmly.

Regina gave a curt hum in acknowledgement before ending the call.

Regina was filled with affection and tenderness as she turned to the innocent–looking woman in a white dress. “Raine, you’re too kind. It’s a pity that Nancy hardly appreciates it.”

Raine smiled sweetly. “It’s fine. I took her place, so I don’t blame her. I believe she’ll soon come to see my good intentions.”

As she spoke, a flicker of sadness flashed in her eyes.

Regina’s heart ached for her, and she pulled her into an embrace. “Silly child, what do you mean you took her place? It’s not like you replaced her on purpose.

“Everything is up to fate. She can’t blame anyone for it. She’s just plain foolish if she can’t recognize what you’re doing for her.”

“Thank you, Mom.” Raine curled up in Regina’s embrace.

Nancy arrived at the Lidell residence when it was close to noon

Her gaze swept across the house before her. It was barely a tenth as luxurious as the Moore family’s.

Raine, who had been keeping an eye on the entrance from the living room, immediately stepped outside.

Curling her lips into a smile, she said, “Nancy, did you think you were seeing things? This must be the most luxurious villa you’ve ever laid eyes on, right?“/

Nancy remained silent. She couldn’t be bothered to respond to such a childish provocation and simply walked straight into the living room.

Andrew, Regina, and Wendy were already seated inside. Wendy shot Nancy a disdainful glance while leisurely eating grapes.

Regina quickly called out, “Nancy, come over here.”

Nancy took a seat in a single armchair Regina frowned slightly before saying, “We’ve just spoken to Wendy As long as you apologize to her, she’ll clarify things online.”

Nancy turned to look at Wendy, who looked back sharply with a smug expression.

“Of course! However, it depends on how sincere you are,” Wendy replied haughtily.

“What kind of sincerity are you looking for?”

“It’s up to you,” Wendy replied arrogantly while continuing to leisurely indulge in grapes.

After Raine returned, she whispered into Nancy’s ear, “Nancy, Wendy is being nice as is. How about you get on your knees and apologize to her?”

After hearing that, Nancy looked at Andrew and Regina. “So, this is the solution you came up with

for me?”

While Andrew averted his gaze, Regina became impatient. “This is the best way to solve the problem. Others wouldn’t have let you off so easily! It’s just kneeling. Can’t you do even that?”
