Chapter 51
Dressed in all black, Willow held a glass of red wine as she watched everything go down.
Julian walked over to her, and she subtly raised her glass while lifting her chin. “Are you sure it’s okay to do that? It seems like you’re neglecting Ms. Simpson.”
Julian stared at her with a seductive look that only a mature man could pull off. A while later, he grabbed the glass in her hand and kissed her on the lips. “Should we get going, Mrs. Ziegler?”
Before Willow could react, Julian had already grabbed her and dragged her out. It was a rather rude thing to do, but it was what he wanted. The chandelier shone down on them, casting a gorgeous silhouette.
They could hear Melody yelling from behind them, “Julian!”
For some reason, Willow smiled. Annoyed by the teasing, Julian took it out on her by pushing her against the wall and kissing her.
The hotel corridor was a public space, and people could show up at any moment. Obviously, Willow was against it, so she tried to break free. However, Julian grabbed her neck and kissed her deeply as if he wanted to swallow her whole. Eventually, he managed to tame Willow, and she raised her head to reciprocate./1
In a hoarse voice, he asked, “Do you want to do it?”
Trembling, Willow replied, “No.”
All of a sudden, Julian chuckled. Given how handsome he was, his laugh was incredibly charming. Even though Willow didn’t love him anymore, she was still attracted to him. Honestly, she hadn’t lost out at all.
Julian caressed her face, feeling a sudden wave of internal peace. That was how Willow made him feel.
In a low voice, he said, “Just kidding. I have to go to Yarrowmere early tomorrow morning.”
When they were back at Grandview Manor, Julian went to the study for a video conference while Willow helped him pack his luggage.
Those words haunted Willow all night, leaving her unable to sleep. Julian’s strong arms had her trapped in his embrace with her face buried in his neck.
When she woke up again, it was already the afternoon. The lounge attached to the bedroom was filled with expensive boxes containing jewelry, clothes from brands that Willow liked to wear, and a few expensive trinkets. They were all typical things that women would like.
The last box contained all the love letters Willow had written. It was a gallery of her entire youth. At that moment, Willow felt herself tearing up. Julian sure knew
how to please a woman.
