Love Me Back (Amelia and Daniel) novel Chapter 32

Violet let out a shriek, but Amelia, still fuming, slapped her again.

“That’s for Ella. The first slap was for you framing her, and the second—for forcing her to give up her graduate studies!”

A maid hurried out of the car, rushing to shield Violet. “Are you out of your mind? Do you have any idea who Ms. Scott belongs to? Mr. Campbell will make you pay for this!”

Amelia arched a cold eyebrow, not the least bit intimidated. She tossed her phone onto Violet’s lap. “Go on, call him. Tell Daniel I bullied you. Let’s see if he’ll rush to your rescue.”

She knew this confrontation was inevitable—a matter of time before the masks came off. After all, if she dared lay a hand on Daniel’s precious darling, she was curious to see exactly how he planned to “make her pay.”

The maid, seizing the chance to tattle, whipped out her own phone and dialed, only to have the call immediately rejected.

Violet, half her face flushed and trembling, choked out, “Better use mine.”

She dialed, but her call was hung up as well.

Amelia raised an eyebrow, surprised. Even Daniel’s “precious little doll” couldn’t get through to him—he must really not be available right now.

She took her phone back, brushed past the maid without apology, and gripped the arms of her wheelchair, looming over Violet with an icy stare. “Violet, if you have a problem with me, then deal with me directly. Leave the people around me out of it. I haven’t retaliated—not because I’m afraid, but because I don’t want to stoop to fighting with a dog and end up dirtying myself. But if you push me too far—”

Amelia’s voice was slow, resolute, each word crystal clear. “I’ll drag Daniel down with me. I’ll make sure you never become Mrs. Campbell.”

Violet was stunned into silence, her expression frozen mid-glare.

Amelia turned away and got into her car. She hadn’t gone far before her phone rang, the screen lighting up with Daniel’s name.

So, the Porcelain Doll was persistent after all, calling over and over until she finally got through.

Amelia wasn’t one for playing games. She came clean without hesitation. “I just slapped Violet—twice. If you want to settle things, just say so.”

But instead of the outburst she expected, all she got was silence.

After about ten seconds, Daniel’s low voice came through. “What did she do to you?”

Amelia was caught off guard. She’d been bracing for a fight, but he was actually asking for her side of the story.

After a pause, she told him about Ella.

“That day, you took Violet’s side, fine. But now she wants to spread it everywhere, make it worse. Daniel, I can handle whatever she throws at me, openly or in secret. But she can’t hurt the people I care about.”
