At ten o’clock in the morning, Ian was sitting in the CEO Office of the Hamilton Group.

Mitchell said, “Mr. Hamilton, the competitor is working for Sir Julian.”

Ian’s knuckles tapped against the desk. “Get the car. We’re heading to the Rowe Estate.”

Mitchell remained still. “Boss Shane and Mrs. Hamilton are already at the Rowe Estate.”

Ian leaned back in his chair, looking exhausted.

After a brief pause, Ian told Mitchell, “Make arrangements. We’re flying to Marlovia this afternoon.”

He was determined to win this project.

Meanwhile, at the Rowe Estate, Carrmen Rowe had just heard that his grandson had deliberately competed for and snatched a multi–billion–dollar project from the Hamilton family.

He wasn’t exactly shocked.

Carmen Rowe turned to Julian Rowe and asked, “Is this true?”

Julian sat in his wheelchair, eyes lowered.

He twirled a string of prayer beads in his hand and nodded. “Ian’s been getting way too cocky. As his elder, I just couldn’t stand by and watch, so I thought I’d give Shane a hand in teaching him a lesson.”

Shane didn’t want to get on the wrong side of the Rowe family. He spoke up, “Sir Julian, if you’ve got something to say, just lay it out. I know you and the Wens have your issues, but the Hamilton family’s never done you wrong, have we?”

Julian glanced up. “Anyone who messes with my personal doctor is messing with me.”

Shane and Miranda shared a look.

Miranda said, “Sir Julian, Ian made a mistake. As his elder, you’re free to set him straight–we won’t complain. But just because their marriage is falling apart, do you really have to take it this far and launch a business

war?”

Julian shook his head. “That’s not for you to decide.”

Shane couldn’t hold back his temper anymore and stood up.

He said, “Mr. Rowe, Sir Julian, the Hamilton family has always worked hard to mend fences between the Wens and the Rowes. I never thought you’d aim your sights at us.”

Shane continued, “Sir Julian, you’re a legend in your own right, but the Hamilton family isn’t one to back down. The Hamilton Group has business ties with all eight powerhouses–shake one, and the whole market feels it. So if you’re set on this path, we’re ready to face the Rowes head–on!”

As soon as Shane and Miranda left, Carrmen Rowe swung his cane at Julian. “You reckless brat!”

Julian just caught the cane like it was nothing.

He said, “Grandpa, I’m not going head–to–head with the eight powerhouses. But as long as Ian keeps stalling on that divorce, I’m personally going to snatch up every project he’s got.”

Carrmen Rowe stomped his foot and banged his cane. “That Chloe is your niece–in–law!”

Julian gave Carmen Rowe’s belly a pat. “Grandpa, I know.”

More than an hour later, Ian was back in the CEO Office of the Hamilton Group.

He looked at his parents and asked, “What did Sir Julian say?”

Miranda let out a sigh, “Ian, for the life of me, I just don’t understand why you refuse to divorce Chloe. You’re supposed to be the master of strategy, always weighing the pros and cons. Now even outsiders are taking Chloe’s side–how much more are you going to let the Hamilton family lose?”

Ian leaned back, replying, “Mom, I didn’t get to the top by luck. I know how to outsmart those boardroom foxes, and rivals like Sir Julian? I’ve dealt with plenty before. If he wants to take on the Hamilton family, bring it on.”

He paused for a second before adding, “But as for the divorce? Not a chance.”

Shane slammed his hand on the desk and stood up. “The Hamilton family has stood at the top for a hundred years–losing a few billion–dollar deals isn’t going to shake our foundation. The business world is a battlefield. If the Rowes seriously want to take us on, Ian, you don’t owe them any favors.”

Ian stayed unruffled, subtly watching for Miranda’s reaction.

He said, “Dad, Sir Julian and Mom are still half–siblings. This whole situation started because of me, so I’ll do my best to mediate.”

Miranda genuinely hadn’t expected Ian to say something like that.

Shane had always hammered it into lan that when it came to business, family ties meant nothing.

Just as Chloe was taking her lunch break, Ian called–she stepped out of the hospital in a hurry.

Ian didn’t say a word; he just yanked her into the car, no hello or explanation.

Chloe could tell Ian was acting strange again, his mood clouded over.

Seeing her reaction, Ian immediately knew she’d been kept in the dark about all this.

He said, “Chloe, the Hamiltons have ruled Kingsford for a century–the title of ‘richest in the city‘ wasn’t handed to us on a silver platter. If Sir Julian really kicks off a business war against us, he won’t just be facing the Hamiltons, but all the powerhouse families backing us. Is that what you want to happen?”

Chloe couldn’t help feeling uneasy, her nerves on edge.

She couldn’t deny that everything Ian said was true.

But she wasn’t about to back down.

Chloe said, “Ian, things have reached this point–honestly, you should just divorce me. It’d be better for everyone.”

Ian caught Chloe by the arm and pulled her in close.

Looking her straight in the eyes, he said, “Chloe, I know I’ve let you down. But I have my boundaries–I’ve never betrayed you. Whatever you do to punish me, I’ll take it. But divorce? That’s off the table.”
