Chapter 235
Chloe stood in the hallway, watching as everyone clustered around Henry, hurrying up the stairs.
As Henry rushed past Chloe, he moved straight to Violet’s side. “Hold on, I’m taking you to the hospital right
now.”
Violet grabbed his hand to hold him back, refusing his help.
Violet’s voice trembled with frustration as she protested, “Honey, it’s just a small injury–really, I’m fine. But our son must be shaken up by all this, and I feel a little uneasy.”
Henry was determined to take her to the hospital, but Violet was just as stubborn, refusing to go.
She looked at him, sounding hurt and indignant. “Honey, I can’t believe I’m being bullied like this in my own home. All I did was help Dr. Irvine get changed–then she turned around and shoved me, trying to make me miscarry!”
Chloe finally snapped. “Mrs. Quinn, what are you, psychic or something? Do you really think you know what’s in my head better than I do?”
Violet calmly replied, unfazed, “Dr. Irvine, there are cameras in the hallway. If I’m making this up, I’ll apologize to you in front of everyone.”
Vivian didn’t miss a beat, chiming in sharply, “Dr. Irvine, we all saw you push Mrs. Quinn! You can’t talk your way out of this!”
Everyone began to clamor, insisting loudly that the security footage be brought up.
Henry immediately ordered someone to pull up the footage.
Then he turned his gaze to Chloe, his tone laced with warning. “Dr. Irvine, if the cameras show you deliberately pushed my wife and made her lose the baby, even if you’re here with Mr. Eric Jordan, you’ll answer for it!”
Henry was absolutely furious, while Violet kept playing sweet and helpless, refusing to stand up. Vivian and Andrea’s brother and sister–in–law were fanning the flames nonstop, gossiping and stirring up drama.
The nosy onlookers didn’t hold back, calling Chloe nasty for targeting a pregnant woman and laughing at her for being nothing but a washed–up socialite who wasn’t fit to be here.
Some kept spreading gossip that she was desperate to get back with her ex–husband, dying to claw her way back into the Hamilton family and live that luxury wife life again. Others said she only landed her gig at Jordan Family Hospital by hooking up with Mr. Eric Jordan, basically sleeping her way to the top.
There were even folks whispering she was the homewrecker who broke lan and Andrea up, messing with a couple who actually loved each other.
They claimed she was the reason Andrea got thrown in jail, and now karma had caught up to her–finally getting tossed out of the Hamilton family herself.

Rumors flew in every direction–people said anything and everything you could imagine.
Chloe stood expressionless as all the whispering around her grew nastier and crueler with every second. She kept silent, refusing to respond or give them anything to latch onto.
She answered their malice with nothing but silence.
Just then, Henry’s phone buzzed with a message.
He played the video right in front of everyone.
In the footage, Violet was being her usual gracious self, insisting on helping Chloe get changed into clean clothes. When Chloe refused, she suddenly shoved Violet, sending her straight to the floor.
With the video as “proof,” Violet put on an even sadder face, while Vivian and Andrea’s brother and sister–in- law poured gasoline on the fire, egging everyone on. The crowd’s random gossip instantly blew up into a full- blown takedown.
Vivian snapped, “Chloe, with your utter lack of ethics and competence, you have no business being a doctor!”
Andrea’s brother and sister–in–law shouted, “She purposely shoved Aunt Violet, trying to make her lose the baby! That’s no different from murder! We need to call the police and get her thrown in jail!”
Just as the crowd was about to come for Chloe, lan, Patrick, and Eric showed up right on time.
Patrick turned to Chloe and asked, “What happened?”
Chloe glanced at Patrick, Ian, and Eric, her eyes growing misty in an instant.
Ian stared at her, stunned, as Chloe walked toward him with that wounded look. His chest tightened, and he rushed forward, saying, “Don’t be scared. I’m here.”
But before lan could finish, Chloe had already walked right past him.
Chloe’s voice quivered as she pleaded, looking right at Patrick and Eric. “Patrick, Eric, I didn’t do it. I’m being framed.”
Hearing Chloe’s frail protest behind him, lan managed to turn himself around, his hand dropping uselessly to his side, utterly helpless.
Turns out, all that hurt and fragility she’d just shown–it wasn’t meant for him.
He’d stepped forward for her, but she had turned away to someone else.
A stabbing pain twisted Jan’s heart, his vision going dark for a split second.
Luckily, Patrick reacted with lightning reflexes and grabbed lan before he could hit the ground.

Eric, unsure what exactly had happened, still stepped up to shield Chloe. “Mr. Quinn, there must be some misunderstanding here. Dr. Irvine is here because of me, so if there’s any problem, bring it to me–I’ll take full responsibility.”
Violet looked frail as she was helped up, stepping forward with a pitiful tone. “Eric, I’ve heard some things about Dr. Irvine and my niece Andrea, but personally, I’ve never had anything against her.”
Her voice quivered even more as she spoke, “I just can’t believe Dr. Irvine hates the Sherman family so much she’d stoop so low–she even went after me, a pregnant woman. If I hadn’t managed to shield my stomach in time, who knows, my baby might already be gone!”
Vivian cut in, her words sharp and accusing. “Eric, everybody here saw it with their own eyes, and the security footage backs it up. Dr. Irvine hates the Sherman family–and she didn’t even spare Mrs. Quinn, who’s pregnant! Isn’t calling the cops and locking her up exactly what needs to be done?”
Patrick jabbed a finger at Vivian and sneered, “All this yapping, but what does an outsider like you–some bastard kid–even have to do with any of this?”
Vivian’s cheeks burned crimson as she got shut down in an instant–she finally kept her mouth shut.
Henry’s voice was sharp with anger as he snapped, “Eric, even if she’s here because of you, she hurt my wife. You owe me an explanation!”
Ian shoved Patrick aside and strode right up in front of everyone.
He shot Chloe a sideways glance before fixing his gaze on Violet. “Mrs. Quinn, Andrea took a life. Prison’s already the lightest sentence she could hope for.”
Violet leaned against Henry, looking all fragile. “Mr. Hamilton, I’m not here to make trouble. If you’re dead set on sticking up for Dr. Irvine and calling me a liar, then fine–I’ll just bite my tongue and take the blame.”
Ian’s face turned cold, his voice full of warning. “Mrs. Quinn, I’m the one who sent Andrea to prison. If the Sherman family wants to pick a fight, they can come for me. Leave the innocent out of this.”
