On the way back, Merissa stuffed his suitcase with gifts for the Lan family elders. 
“Did you know my parents are back from their trip?” 
Merissa laughed. “Didn’t you tell me? You said they were back, and they’ve been back for a few days.” 
Romina chuckled. “I really forgot.” 
With Merissa by her side, Romina felt less lonely on the taxi ride home from the airport. 
 
  
She hadn’t told the family driver to pick her up. They took a taxi back . 
The taxi dropped them off at the entrance of the Lan family villa and stopped. 
Merissa paid the fare and quickly got out to help Romina with her suitcases. 
He was pulling both suitcases by himself. Romina wanted to pull her own, but he wouldn’t let her. 

“From now on, when you’re with me, I’ll do all the heavy lifting.” 
“What’s so heavy about pulling a suitcase?” 
“It’s heavy. Come on, let’s go in.” 
Merissa, as if he were at home, led the way inside, a suitcase in each hand. 
The housekeeper greeted him with a smile. 
“The eldest lady is back, Mr. Zhan, good afternoon,” the butler said with a smile. 
Merissa also smiled and responded to the butler’s greeting. The butler had worked in the Lan family for many years and was deeply trusted by the Lan family, so he had to give the butler some face. 
However, he, the seventh young master Zhan, never put on airs; he was very approachable. 
“Is Grandpa home?” 
Romina asked the housekeeper. 
“Grandpa knew the eldest daughter was coming back today, so he stayed out this afternoon. He’s playing chess with the master in the room right now. Madam, knowing the eldest daughter was coming, went to the kitchen herself, saying she wanted to cook some of her specialties to entertain Mr. Zhan.” 
Romina’s lips twitched as she said, “My mom cooked for Merissa. I thought she missed me and finally remembered to show me some maternal love.” 
The housekeeper smiled, “I saw that Madam cooked all the dishes the eldest daughter would love. They’re definitely for her.” 
Merissa smiled back, “Then I’m in luck.” 
The Lan family elders completely approved of him, treating him like a future son-in-law. 
In the eyes of the Lan family, Merissa had accompanied Romina on her business trip to Wangcheng, a ten-day stay. During those ten days, the two of them shared meals and lodgings, albeit in a hotel, not the same room. 
But they considered this to be living together, practically the same as living together. 
Romina: …Aside from hugging and kissing, she and Merissa haven’t done anything inappropriate. 
Why is it that when she’s with her family, it’s like she and Merissa are living together? How can they be so eager to marry her off? 
The housekeeper entered the house before the two of them, and she happily told the old man, “Old man, sir, the eldest lady and Mr. Zhan are back.” 
“They’re back, they’re back. It’s time for dinner. I’m hungry, especially after smelling the aroma of my mother’s cooking.”

Lan Dongxiao chuckled, “I’m eating fruit, I won’t gain weight. I have to go to the gym later to work out, so I won’t lose my figure.”
