“Come on, I’ll show you my house,” 
Zeng Xiaoya said to Zhan Yue. 
“My house is just simply renovated, it can’t compare to yours.” 

Without asking, she could guess that the money Zhan Yue spent on renovations could have bought her house, maybe even more.

they bought her a house in Wansheng Garden because it’s close to their old house. If she gets married and her in-laws bully her, she can just shout and her family will be there in no time. 
Her cousins, who owned properties, all bought properties close to the old house. Her aunts and uncles shared the same sentiment as her parents. 
While a house for a son could be farther away, a house for a daughter needed to be close to home, providing her with support. 

Zeng Xiaoya opened the door and led Zhan Yue inside. 
She’d suggested a simple renovation, but it was actually quite good. After all, she’d chosen environmentally friendly materials, which aren’t cheap. 
The house was just over 100 square meters, with four bedrooms, two living rooms, and two bathrooms. The master bedroom was the largest, and the second bedroom was the second. The guest room was spacious for a small house, at least enough for a 5-foot-tall bed, a wardrobe, and a desk. 
The furniture wasn’t extensive, but the basics were there. 
There was a large balcony, where Zeng Xiaoya had placed several potted flowers, which were growing vigorously, and a hanging chair. 
Zhan Yue walked over and sat on the hanging chair, gazing out at the street outside. The breeze was quite comfortable. 
“This hanging chair was given to me by the furniture store owner when I bought the furniture. I bought a lot of furniture from them at once before they agreed to give me one. I’ve wanted one for a long time.” 
“I think it’s so comfortable to sit in it and read a book in my spare time. I’m thinking of having a custom-made sun-shaded bookshelf against the wall on the balcony.” 
Zhan Yue smiled, “That’s great.” 
She likes hanging chairs, or rather, she likes swings. 
He wants to buy a swing chair for his family, too, a double one. When he succeeds in pursuing his wife, they can spend their free time together on the swing chair.
