Married First, Loved Later : A Flash Marriage with My Ex's 'Uncle' novel Chapter 528

Chapter 528: Vengeance Fulfilled

It was only at this moment that he realized just how much Selina resembled Victoria.

Others might not believe it, but he knew—he truly liked Victoria, he truly loved her.

It’s just that, just that...

"Chairman Morris, I believe you once loved my mother."

Selina’s sudden words made Joe’s eyes light up. "You believe me, you believe..."

"I believe you loved her. But your pride, your career—they mattered more than she did. Or rather, you only ever wanted her as your possession."

Joe froze as though struck by lightning. "No, no, that’s not true! I treated her well—she loved me, she loved me too..."

"Sorry to disappoint you." Selina tilted her head slightly. "Unfortunately, all your efforts, everything you did—you only managed to move yourself, and maybe the whole world. But you never moved my mother’s heart."

"In her eyes, you were the culprit who tore her away from her family. You were the executioner who separated her from her fiancé by life and death. To her, you were nothing but a demon."

"Oh, wait—that was what she wrote in her diary right after she escaped from you. Back then, yes, you were the demon in her eyes. But later..."

"Stop it, stop it!" Joe suddenly broke down, as if he already knew what was coming.

Selina’s voice was icy, dismantling his delusions piece by piece. "But later, you disappeared from her diary completely. So much so, that when I read it all, I wasn’t even sure the man she once despised was named Joe."

"My mother’s diary had no trace of you. Do you know what that means? It means she didn’t even remember you. How pitiful is that? You cut off her wings by every means possible, but in the end, she forgot you entirely. She didn’t even hate you anymore. Because she didn’t remember you, she didn’t need to."

"No..." Joe’s eyes went blank. With a heavy thud, he collapsed onto the floor. He was utterly broken.

He couldn’t accept it!

Selina had no sympathy for a criminal. Without sparing him another glance, she turned to Grandma Morris, the corner of her lips lifting in a cold smile.

"Grandma Morris, let me give you some good news."

"Losing the Turner Group partnership may not mean total ruin for the Morris Family."

Grandma Morris glared at her, her eyes dark.

Sure enough, Selina’s next words sent her blood pressure soaring. "Because you and your son are about to go to prison. Compared to that, losing one business deal is nothing. The entire Morris Family is about to collapse."

"Selina!" Grandma Morris shrieked, her eyes bulging with rage. She let out a hysterical scream, as though she wanted to tear Selina apart with her teeth. "How dare you! How dare you! My son and I took a fancy to your mother—that was her honor! Her honor... ahhh!"

Mrs. Cole stepped forward without hesitation and slapped Grandma Morris hard across the face. "If you can’t speak properly, then shut your mouth! Honor? If my young lady crushes the Morris Group into dust, that will still be your honor!"

Grandma Morris flinched, her eyes filled with hatred and bitter unwillingness.

The wail of sirens cut through the air, and soon a squad of police rushed in. They seized Joe and Grandma Morris, their voices firm and official. "You two are under suspicion for a kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment case from years ago. Please step into the vehicle."

Joe’s legs gave out, his expression vacant, his spirit shattered.

Grandma Morris thrashed wildly, but how could she resist the strong officers? Handcuffs snapped around her wrists, and she was shoved into the police car.

"Selina! Victoria! You sluts! I won’t let you go... sluts... I won’t—"

Bang!

The car door slammed shut, cutting off her venomous curses.

The scene fell into silence for a long moment. No one had expected events to take this turn.

Joe and Grandma Morris were going to prison.

The Morris Group was finished.

She fell asleep the moment she got into the car. It wasn’t a peaceful sleep—she seemed to dream of many things, dreams like the wind, impossible to grasp.

She seemed to see her mother. She thought she saw Joe and Grandma Morris, crying and raging. And so many other things...

"Selina."

A gentle male voice drifted into her dream. Her furrowed brow relaxed, and her body eased. The dream softened into something beautiful.

Logan carried her out of the car, held her tenderly as he took her upstairs, and laid her gently on the bed.

As for Joe, who wanted to hire a lawyer, Logan left that matter to Mrs. Cole. He knew Helen and the Hill family master would want Joe to pay the price themselves.

Meanwhile, the Morris Group fell into chaos, crumbling apart. Its stock price plummeted as if in freefall.

Within just three days, the mighty Morris Group was on the brink of bankruptcy. Shareholders rushed to sell their shares, but because of Logan’s presence, no one dared to buy. The worthless stock simply rotted in their hands.

But none of that mattered to Selina. She was lost in a long, long dream—one where her mother was still with her, and so was the father she had never met. He was gentle, wearing a research institute uniform, accompanying her as she grew up.

Her parents were never absent. She had been raised like a princess from childhood. There was no Natalia, no Angelica, no Katie. She was happy and carefree.

Selina thought, maybe parallel worlds really do exist. Perhaps in another timeline, her family lived that simple, blissful life.

She drifted in and out of sleep for days. By the time she fully woke, three days had passed.

And the first news she received upon waking: the Morris Group had collapsed completely. The Morris Family of City H was no more.

Sitting up in bed, Selina couldn’t help herself—she clapped her hands.

Knock, knock— 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Logan’s gentle voice came through the door. "You’re awake?"
