Chapter 104: Tossed Her Out Of The Carriage

Islinda held her breath at the sensation of Aldric’s almost feather-like touch on her cheek. His icy blue eyes that almost looked kind now pierced her to the core, and a light flush spread across her face.

"W-what...?" She stared at him, mouth agape and waiting for a reasonable explanation for this. Aldric was certainly not comforting her, right? No way.

Aldric in question caught himself at the last minute and stiffened. What has he done? Why did he do that? However, the fae prince didn’t want to look guilty in front of Islinda, so he decided to play it cool.

He lifted the thumb he used to wipe the tears and brought him to his lips. He tasted it and said, "So this is what a human’s tears taste like? Salty?"

The blood drained from Islinda’s face. No, she was horrified. And here she was, thinking that somehow he felt guilty for what he had done to her. Islinda gave him a disgusted look.

Aldric tortured himself mentally over his actions. What had he been thinking? Now, he felt like a fool. But on the bright side, Islinda was not no longer crying and his chest puffed out with pride. He had done it. He made her stop crying.

"We should leave," Aldric said to her, back to his cold self and strangely, it was a huge relief.

Islinda wished he wouldn’t pull that stunt from earlier again. As far as she knows, Aldric was the cruel, heartless Fae and a monster. That way, she found it easy to blame him for all her misfortune.

He didn’t even take her hand and lead her to the carriage like a gentleman, instead, she followed after him like a maidservant. With an irritated huff, Islinda reached for the door to the carriage as an anchor and went in. freewёbnoνel.com

As usual, Islinda sat across from him, glaring at him briefly before turning her attention to the window. It was late and she couldn’t wait to go home so she could lay down on the ridiculously soft bed and rest her body. Islinda was exhausted both physically and mentally.

And crying minutes ago had been sort of reliving, although she felt sort of ashamed now that Aldric had seen her in her weakest moment. She hopes Aldric doesn’t take her as a crybaby or weak human. Because if he takes advantage to push hard at her, Islinda was determined to push back harder.

He tricked and took her away from the human realm and ruined her chances of being with Valerie, she would torment him as well. The only solution to this current situation was death. Either he released her or he killed her to set her free.

"Don’t you think this is getting boring? We fight and fight, isn’t it tiring?" Aldric attempted to start a conversation between them but the glare she sent his way was icy and loathing.

Not that Aldric gave up.

He continued, "Adjusting to the Fae realm might be hard at first, but trust me, you would realize you have lots more opportunities here than in the human realm.

As usual, Islinda could not let him have the last word.

She retorted, "How passionate you are to ruin someone else’s reputation all because you cannot accomplish half of what he has. No one loves you Aldric and we both know that’s what you’re bitter about.

And yes, Islinda knew she struck a nerve because his expression darkened, his gaze brewing with a storm. However, his expression suddenly shifted as his pointed ears perked up and Aldric looked lost for a nanosecond before his eyes widened with panic, confusing her.

Everything happened so quickly.

One second Aldric was on his feet and his hand clamped around her arm just as he kicked the carriage door open.

The next, she was soaring through the air as it appears Aldric tossed her out of the carriage.
