Mated To The Cruel Prince novel Chapter 385

Chapter 385: Dressed As Couples

The charade of demoting Islinda to a servant was undeniably amusing, especially considering that she was now being prepared for a grand ball mere hours later. Life had a funny way of working itself out, as the Fae responsible for attending to her needs was none other than the person who had previously ridiculed and mocked her for being human.

Now donning the role of a servant, Islinda found it rather comical that she was supposed to rely on the assistance of others to dress her for the ball, an event organized by a queen who undoubtedly intended to harm her that evening. She didn’t actually need any help from the servants, yet Aldric sent them anyway. It made her earlier efforts seem like a joke.

Furthermore, there were numerous other Fae who could have attended to her. It was a mere coincidence that Sura, the very Fae who had bullied her, was included in the group of servants. Or was it really just a coincidence? Islinda couldn’t shake the feeling that Aldric had intentionally arranged for Sura to serve her.

The dark Fae prince was well aware of everything that happened within his castle, and his Ravens must have informed him of Sura’s bullying. So, he decided to send Sura as a servant to help humble and embarrass her. But why would he do such a thing?

No, the question should be: why wouldn’t he do it? Aldric, the demented dark Fae prince, had already made it clear that only he had the power to punish her. He held her life in his hands. So, how dare Sura bully her? It was not her place. Surprisingly, Islinda found herself secretly appreciating Aldric’s peculiar protectiveness. She was slowly losing her sanity.

Part of Islinda wanted to take advantage of this opportunity and give Sura a taste of her own medicine. The fact that Sura was serving her once again was enough to make her feel satisfied. However, Islinda refused to stoop so low. She wanted to be responsible and mature about the situation. Besides, it was clear that Sura was already deeply embarrassed and couldn’t even make eye contact. That would suffice, for now.

If Sura didn’t change her ways after this incident, Islinda was determined to bring her down. She was no pushover. After all, Sura had murdered her own sister. Islinda’s innocence had long been lost, and the Fae realm was slowly awakening a ruthless side within her. Perhaps the darkness had always resided within her, and Aldric was simply bringing it to the surface.

By the gods, Islinda sighed and rubbed her temple. Aldric was corrupting her. She couldn’t allow herself to think this way.

"My lady, are you alright?" Marimar addressed her with the customary title, which would only be temporary for this occasion.

"Yes, I’m fine," Islinda replied curtly, still holding her breath and avoiding looking down as they worked on her dress.

"I believe we are finished now, my lady. Please step towards the mirror," Marimar instructed, while the other Fae released their hold on her, gently nudging her towards the standing mirror.

Islinda had come to realize that some Fae were ugly like the wood nyumps but most Fae were usually starkly beautiful. They had graceful features and lithe forms that was just inhumanly perfect. With an allure that draws to the eye, their looks can be sometimes effeminate. But that was not the case for Aldric.

With that hard look in his eyes and the shadows coiling around him, Aldric looked sexy. Dangerously sexy. His hair was braided, making the angles of his face sharper. The dark Fae prince was dressed in black. Yes, black thoroughly from his head to the sole of his feet. Well except his body suited jacket. It was designed in such a way that unless one looked close, only then could they see the shimmering array of flowers. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Islinda had no idea what magic had been used in the creation of this outfit but each petal on his jacket whenever it caught the light, created a mesmerizing dance of colors like a living tapestry. Delicate blossoms of various hues were intricately woven into the fabric, forming patterns that seemed to bloom and recede with his every movement.

But then it suddenly hit Islinda like a punch to the gut, they were dressed as couples.
