My brain felt like it was stuck in a blender set to pure. One minute, we were being threatened with death by the ex vampire king, the next, Damien was claiming me as his mate, killed his twin brother in a blink of an eye and challenged his father for the throne, the freaking throne.

Logic screamed that this had to be a dream but the metallic tang of blood in the air suggested otherwise. I watched in awe as the dreamy eyed guy commanded the vampire warriors to take his father to the dungeon. Seriously, whatever grudge he had with his dad to sentence him to prison must be a deep one because ain’t no way he did all this because of me…..wait did he?

Commitment issues couldn’t even begin to describe this situation. The man had just literally killed his twin brother, sentenced his father to jail, changed the entire power structure, all in the span of a single bloody fightjust for me.

Even the daughters of the other alpha’s began to stare at me in a sort of strange way but I didn’t care about them as all my focus was on Damien as his gaze fell upon me.

He straightened and took a deep breath steadying himself. His eyes held a spark, an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. They look like shinning ruby gems, dangerous yet beautiful. He dropped his bloody sword and began to walk towards me with slow measured steps.

The rate at which my heart beat increased by many folds and it threatened to burst from my chest. Each step that he took seemed to echo in the meeting hall, amplying the chaotic emotions that swirled in me. My hand instinctively reached out to clutch my father’s arm as I breathed in deeply to calm myself down.

Just as he was an arm’s length away from me, a low growl rumbled from my father’s throat.

Don’t you dare touch her.My father growled menacingly but Damien only glared at him with cold eyes.

Step away from my mate. I will not repeat myself.Damien said coolly with an air of nonchalance.

I am her father and you will not take her away.My father yelled with agitation. It was surprising how ever since he came to the Vampire castle, his attitude towards me had taken a drastic change. It was as if, a shackle had been unlocked and I was curious to find out why his attitude changed suddenly. Right after we find a way to get out of here.

Are you moving? Or should I make you move?Damien’s eyes turned to slits as he threatened my father. My father refused to budge and his body began to bulge once again signaling a shift to his wolf.

My head began to throb as I swayed a little. Apparently, the events of the day were taking a toll on me and my body was screaming in protest and my vision blurred a little.

Enough of all this!Damien boomed impatiently as he turned towards his warriors and barked out an order. Take the Alpha and restrain him.

My father swiftly responded and shifted into his massive gray wolf. The horde of vampires answered their king’s decree and surrounded my father instantly trying to restrain him.

I turned to Damien to protest but a wave of dizziness washed over me. The room tilted and my legs buckled as I felt myself crashing towards the floor.

Oh no!I thought I was expecting to crashland on the floor but I was caught by a pair of warm arms. The last thing I saw was the red

warm eyes of Damien staring at me with concern and then….I passed out.

Consciousness began to ooze back into my mind as I slowly blinked my eyes. I blink my eye several times to clear my vision. I slowly rose from the soft bed and glanced around the room 1 found myself in.

Wow!I exclaimed as I observed the room in wonder. I was lying down on a giant four poster bed with crimson velvet drapes. The foam was even softer than the one in my guest room and I had the urge to just lie back into the softness and drift away into the land of dreams. Sunlight streamed through a high window which gave the room some light. I wasn’t even sure if calling this place a room was appropriate. It felt more likea museum of sorts.

Exotic paintings of different creatures adorned the walls, each painting was vivid and realistic. It was as if they would come out of the painting at any time. Massive oak furniture arved expertly with beautiful designs littered the room and above a crystal chandelier hung

from the ceiling.

This place was far more extravagant than the guest room I had occupied. Where the hell was I? Had everything been a dream? The battle? The claim?….the faintness?
