Chapter 104
A few minutes later, the Beta walked in, with the three requested wolves trailing behind him. They were followed by two of the pack warriors and one of the Protectors. This gave them no opportunity to bolt. It was going to be clear, based on those who were summoned, as to what this might be about.
The three Godsend Pack wolves, Wyatt and Alpha Chris all stood before the council. Each of them was eyeing the other, clearly pissed off at the other. One of the councilmen cleared his throat and they snapped their eyes forward.
“We have brought you here so that we may conduct our investigation and give you the opportunity to speak for yourselves. We will tell you what the charges are and you will be heard formally in the next couple of days.” Councilman A spoke up.
“Charges? What the fuck is this about?,” Alpha Chris was spewing without thinking. One of the Protectors went to stand behind him, placing his large hand on his shoulder. Alpha Chris flinched back, but said nothing more.
With a sigh, Councilman A began again. “You are being charged with kidnapping, torture, rape, assault, illegal imprisonment, harassment, illegal use of wolfsbane and celestial silver,” he paused for a moment. “And should we find you have celestial silver or weapons made of these materials on your pack land, you will be charged will illegal possession of a potentially deadly substance or weapon.”
The room was quiet for a moment. Suddenly, all of the accused wolves were placed in silver shackles by the Protectors. Wyatt had already been restrained prior to walking in. Alpha Chris looked down the line of werwolves, spitting out, “Do not say a damn thing. He used his Alpha Command, so that they all barred their necks to him and said nothing. Only Wyatt was not subject to follow his command, since he wasn’t part of the pack. He didn’t seem inclined to talk at all, standing perfectly still with a scowl on his face.
As they had been gathered in the meeting room, two more Protectors had rolled up in a large van. The werwolves were taken out of the Pack house and loaded into the van. By now they had drawn a crowd, many of the Pack members standing outside watching the parade to the van. Whispers and gasps amongst them left the Alpha glaring at them. The Beta stood back at the top of the steps. He turned his head towards those that lingered outside, then he barked at them to return to work. The wolves disbanded and scurried off to what ever things that they had to do. They were all afraid of the Beta. He was big and scary and merciless.
The Council and their protectors loaded into the Black SUV’s with no fan fare, and headed down the road. The caravan made the one hour trek to The Lone Wolf pack, and went straight to the Pack House where Alpha Gabe was waiting to give them access to the dungeon. As they ushered them down to the dungeon, Councilman B stopped by the Alpha and asked him why his Beta wasn’t here. “Oh he’s got a little mate problem right now,‘ he chuckled.
“Excuse me?,” Councilman B replied.
Alpha Gabe turned to him, “His mate is in heat, so he is a bit busy at the moment.”
Councilman B raised his eyebrows, “Oh.” He chuckled and walked back to the Main House.
