Aboard the vessel, Matthew studied the nautical chart in his hands.

"If we want to reach Blackshore Island, we'll have to pass through Bloodfin Bay and the Deep Sea Zone?" he asked, glancing up at the captain standing ahead of him.

"That's right, Mr. Larden. But you might not understand just how terrifying those two areas are." A flicker of fear crossed the captain's face. "Take Bloodfin Bay, for example—every year, hundreds of thousands die there. Even several massive cargo ships have gone down in that bay."

Cargo ships? Matthew quirked a brow, intrigued. But they're just sharks. How can fully reinforced cargo ships go down there?

"Oh, you won't believe it, Mr. Larden. The sharks in Bloodfin Bay can bring down massive vessels. Normal sharks act alone, but the ones in Bloodfin Bay are… organized. Sometimes, a thousand sharks will ignore everything else just to attack a single ship. That's why there are so many shipwrecks every year."

The captain seemed to remember something as his face turned pale. "And the sharks there? Huge. Each one is between 16 and 22 feet long—some even grow to 100 feet. Their teeth can tear a person apart like it's nothing."

Matthew's brows knit slightly.

If what the captain said was true, then the sharks were indeed a serious threat—especially for smaller vessels like the one they were on now. Still, for Matthew, they were more of a nuisance than anything truly dangerous. If he wanted to go on a killing spree, even a swarm of sharks wouldn't be enough to stop him.

"No need to worry," he said calmly. "Once we reach Bloodfin Bay, you can disembark and return on another ship."

Matthew could tell the captain had no intention of pushing forward. So, he offered reassurance directly.

He knew enough about operating a vessel that, even on his own, he could navigate safely to Blackshore Island.

The captain's expression immediately lit up with relief. "Thank you, Mr. Larden!"
