The injuries seemed superficial, but Jeremy, who liked the attention, had exaggerated their severity.

When the doctor examined him, however, it became clear that Jeremy was more seriously hurt than he had let on. There was a slight fracture in his nasal bone.

As he glanced at the X-ray, a flicker of irritation crossed Jeremy’s eyes. No wonder it hurt so much every time he touched it.

Catherine frowned. “How did you end up with such serious injuries? You’ve got multiple soft tissue contusions on your face.”

Jeremy rubbed his forehead. “It’s nothing. I’ll be fine in a few days.”

Harry had hit him hard, and Jeremy hadn’t held back either. He figured Harry was probably in the same condition.

As Jeremy and Catherine left with the medical report, they ran into Rachel, who was just bringing Harry to the hospital.

Rachel was still scolding Harry under her breath when she suddenly noticed Catherine. She immediately let go

of Harry’s hand and asked with concern, “Cathy, what are you doing here? Are you not feeling well?”

Catherine let Rachel hold her hand for a moment, but without looking at Harry, she replied, ” I’m fine. I just came with Jeremy to get him checked out.”

Rachel’s gaze then shifted to Jeremy. “Oh my! You’re hurt too? How did both of your faces end up so injured?”

Harry’s expression darkened at her words. He gritted his teeth and said, “Because I ran into a rabid dog.”

Jeremy spoke at the exact same time, repeating the same words.

Rachel and Catherine paused, and their eyes flicked toward the two men. It was clear they both understood who was being called a rabid dog.

Rachel glared at Harry. “You’re a grown man. Why are you still behaving like a child?”

Harry opened his mouth to reply, but Rachel yanked his arm sharply. “You deserved to get beaten up!”

Looking up, Harry caught the half-smile on Jeremy’s face.

Suddenly, the pressure around him plummeted to an almost unbearable low.

“What are you looking at? Get inside, now!” Rachel snapped, pulling Harry away with force.

Catherine watched the scene unfold, then turned to Jeremy. “Why did you two start fighting?”

She hadn’t expected Harry to be the one to hurt Jeremy, but it was clear that Harry wasn’t in a good state himself.

Jeremy glared at Harry’s retreating back and scoffed, “He’s crazy.”

Catherine nodded in agreement. Harry did seem unhinged. “You should stay away from him from now on,” she advised.

Meanwhile, Harry pulled his hand from Rachel’s grasp. His voice was low and strained. “Mom, don’t forget that I’m your son.”

Of course, Rachel cared about him. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have rushed him to the hospital after seeing the cuts on his face. But her concern seemed to vanish in Catherine’s presence.
