Celeste pursed her lips, "Stop talking nonsense, let him answer the phone."

"Would I lie to you? If you don't believe me, call him. He's unconscious right now, how can he answer? Those two guys last night were crazy, holding knives and being unstoppable! If the police hadn't arrived in time, he'd be dead! I've never seen such a bloody scene."

Celeste started to panic, because she had passed out last night and had no idea what happened. But when she woke up in the morning, she had indeed noticed a few brownish-red spots on her sleeve, which she had thought were coffee stains. Could it be blood?

After that, she hailed a cab and rushed to the hospital.

Her phone rang again on the way. Thinking it was Nicolas, she checked, but it was Shawn, which immediately made her frown.

Her patience was already running thin, so she put her phone on silent and ignored the constant vibrating.

When she arrived at the hospital, she ran into Skyler and Kaylee Reed, as well as Shawn from the Campbell family.

Just as they were about to push open the door, the nurse on duty stopped them.

"What are you trying to do?"

Celeste said, "We're the family of the patient in room 709. Is he getting better?"

"You're the family?" The nurse looked them over and said indifferently, "You're late. He's gone."

Celeste's heart tightened, "Gone... what do you mean?"

"He's dead, probably about 10 minutes ago. If you'd been a little later, he'd have been sent straight to the morgue."
