“That jerk!”

Katherine cursed.

Maureen soothed her: “Don’t be angry. My ovulation window’s in two days. This time, I’m determined to conceive.”

After chatting with Katherine, Maureen put away her phone, stopped looking at the flowers outside, and went to the music room to play piano.

She didn’t know how long it had been, but Maureen couldn’t settle her mind and walked out of the music room.

At first glance, she spotted Jonathan, whom she hadn’t seen for years- wearing a tailcoat, silver–haired but energetic.

He was directing some workers when he noticed Maureen, visibly startled.

Then he coldly looked away, finished instructing the workers, and walked toward her.

Maureen used to believe he genuinely taught her how to be Geoffrey’s

wife.

At first, she followed his every word.

Jonathan decided to come by often when he had time in the future to teach Maureen how to be a proper young madam of the Sutton Family.

Today, Maureen didn’t come to the company.

When Geoffrey learned she hadn’t left the villa all day, the corner of his mouth lifted involuntarily.

Unexpectedly, just some flowers placated her.

She finally stopped thinking about escaping.

“You may leave now.”

The executive instantly breathed a sigh of relief.

Geoffrey checked the time and called the butler Jonathan to ask about the flower replacement.

The butler told him they had already removed the flowers with heavy pollen and would gradually replace them with low–pollen varieties.

After hearing that, Geoffrey packed his things and left.

“Geoffrey, how is… how is the little deaf girl?”

Sean had come today specifically to ask.

“She’s fine.”

Geoffrey replied with just two words and walked past him.

Sean felt a bit helpless.

He wanted to know about Maureen but couldn’t investigate himself. If Geoffrey found out, it would be hard to explain.

Yet not knowing made him worry.

After leaving the Sutton Group, Sean still had business to attend to, He had already had someone look into his illegitimate child studying at the International Academy.
