The woman had been sent abroad last night–permanently.

Sutton Family’s old residence.
Heather had some idea about yesterday’s turmoil.
She drank hot milk, feeling particularly upset: “I used to think she was a simple woman, but now it seems I misjudged her.”
Heather put down the milk, unable to drink any more, and asked her secretary:
“Tomorrow is the Harvest Festival. Will Willie’s kindergarten be closed too?”
The secretary nodded: “Yes, they close at noon today.”
“I’ll pick him up today. Bring all the toys I bought.”
“Okay.”
Heather wanted to take the chance of picking up Willie to see Jacob.
She liked that child so much she wished she could adopt him as her grandson.
Just then, a maid approached.
“Madam, Master Willie and Ms. Ramirez are here.”
Heather sat on the sofa, a strange emotion flashing in her eyes.
“Understood.”
After dismissing everyone, she went alone to the attic and pushed open the dust–covered door. Everything inside was draped in white cloth.
Heather gazed at the scene, then took out her phone and texted Maureen.

Maureen had just arrived at the old estate and finished breakfast with Geoffrey when she received Heather’s text.
It said they should meet to talk.
Maureen told Geoffrey.
Geoffrey stated bluntly: “Just say no if you don’t want to go.”
Maureen couldn’t tell if he was being polite or sincere.
“I can go.”
She got up to meet Heather.

In the garden outside, Heather wore a cocktail dress while watering flowers. Spotting Maureen, she handed the watering can to the butler.
“Replace all the plants that don’t bloom.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
Heather deliberately said this in front of Maureen–a metaphor for infertility.
Maureen understood perfectly but remained composed.
They got into the car one after another.
Throughout the ride, Heather was unusually calm.
“Reenie, you know what?
Lately I met an adorable child who looked just like our Geoff when he was little.”
Maureen’s eyes tightened, fearing she’d discovered something–until Heather continued:
“Pity he isn’t Geoff’s child.”
Maureen’s heart still raced: “You should know our childlessness isn’t solely my fault.”
Heather certainly knew Geoffrey had spent barely any nights at home during their three–year marriage.
“I simply want to ask–have things improved between you two lately?”

Heather knew Andrea was unreliable.
Last time, she saw Maureen and Geoffrey kissing in the room with her own eyes, so she pinned her hopes on Maureen.
Maureen nodded slightly.
A flash of joy crossed Heather’s eyes as she forced calm: “I was wrong before, but from now on, if you carry Geoff’s child, I’ll treat you and the child well.”
The only thing that could make the former Potter heiress–the iron lady in public eyes–bow her head was probably having a grandson.
“Whatever you want, I’ll give it to you.”
Compared to her earlier aggression, Heather was now unusually gentle. She held Maureen’s hand with earnest eyes.
Maureen knew this kindness came with demands, so she pulled her hand away.
“I can’t promise you anything about this.”
Heather’s smile froze: “One child for two billion dollars–how’s that?”
She paused, then added:
“Of course, after pregnancy, you need full checkups. I won’t tolerate health issues at birth.”
“And after birth, the Sutton family must take responsibility.”
Heather’s meaning was crystal clear: Maureen had hearing loss, but the child couldn’t.
Two billion for one child…
