Gareth immediately spoke up: “Ethan, I’ll help Mommy win it for you right now, alright?”
Hearing this, Ethan stopped crying, his big eyes fixed on Gareth.
“Okay,” he said, then turned to Maureen. “Go get ‘em, Mommy and Daddy.”
Maureen could hardly object now.
The three headed to the event area to register. Once ten couples had signed up, the staff announced the rules:
Participants stand face to face, get blindfolded, then staff suddenly lowers a suspended object–like an apple or paper.
Contestants must secure the object using their bodies.
But no hands allowed.
Maureen and Gareth stepped onto the stage alongside other couples. The staff produced the first item: a balloon, large enough that leaning forward would keep it from falling.
Blindfolds secured, the host shouted: “Begin!”
Everyone pressed forward at once.
The balloon was tethered by a string, easily caught.
Ethan cheered for them: “Go Mommy, go Daddy!”
Maureen thought of Ethan, determined to win that Giant Teddy Bear
They caught several large items consecutively, though physical contact became unavoidable.
Finally, only two teams remained.
The staff announced the last item would be paper.
At the starting signal, Maureen rushed forward. First came the sensation of A4 paper brushing her face–then Gareth pulled her into his arms.

The man lowered his head, kissing her lips through the paper.
The world seemed to freeze. Maureen only heard the staff say: “Congratulations, you won.
“Click!”
Ethan snapped a photo of them with Gareth’s phone.
Amidst applause, Maureen’s cheeks burned. Removing her blindfold, she couldn’t bring herself to look at Gareth.
On the way back to the hospital, Ethan hugged the Giant Teddy Bear, over the moon.
“Mommy, can you and Daddy bring me here again next time?”
Maureen nodded distractedly: “Okay.”
After dropping Ethan off, Maureen declined Gareth’s offer to drive her home.
“I drove here too. If you take me back, my car stays here–that’d be inconvenient.”
Maureen avoided Gareth’s gaze.
“Okay, when are you free?
Let’s come together to find Ethan.”
“It’s not certain yet. I promised Katherine the other day to go see her.”
Maureen made an excuse to refuse.
Gareth knew she wasn’t comfortable yet and wasn’t in a hurry.
“Then when you have time, contact me.‘

Maureen nodded repeatedly.
After she left, Gareth opened his phone, looked at a photo of the two taken by Ethan, and his lips curled up unconsciously.

Sutton hasn’t divorced yet, she has a husband.
་་
Wayne had now found a job close to the Arcade.
When he came out of the Arcade today, he happened to see Maureen and Gareth.
Hearing this, Gareth smiled disdainfully.
“Is that so?
Then tell Alex that I enjoy taking what belongs to others.”
“Of course, not just women, but also your Sutton Group’s projects!
In the past, you swallowed my things; now you’d better spit them all out.
Gareth came back this time not just for Maureen, but also for those businesses he took over after Geoffrey targeted him.
He knew the one running Sutton Group now wasn’t the real boss, so there was nothing to worry about.
Wayne didn’t expect Gareth to be so arrogant.
Now that the boss had amnesia, Wayne naturally wouldn’t tell him what Gareth said.
But Gareth really wanted Geoffrey to face reality.
At home.
Geoffrey was using a braille computer, waiting for Maureen to come back.
It was already 8 PM, and she hadn’t returned yet.
Usually by this time, she’d have been back long ago.
Just then, a text message came on the phone nearby, Geoffrey quickly picked it up, and it played automatically:
“Mr. Sutton, this is Gareth. Just letting you know, Reenie’s been with me all day, she’ll be back later.”
