Chapter267
“From now on, they are yours. You can give them orders yourself.”
Geoffrey replied.
Maureen was stunned.
What does it mean they are mine?
She asked Justin to stop the car first, then said to the bodyguards following: “Go back.”
“Yes.”
Sure enough, the lead bodyguard immediately obeyed.
Inside.
Geoffrey held the hung–up phone, his brow furrowed with bitterness.
Yesterday, he had Wayne bribe Justin, but unexpectedly, the guy refused.
The more this happened, the more he felt this bodyguard was both extraordinary and dangerous.
Seems he’d have to follow Reenie to Karaville after all.
Zoe hadn’t retired yet and found it odd seeing Geoffrey staring blankly at his phone. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
Geoffrey paused before adding, “I’ll be working night shifts these next few days. Won’t be coming back.”
Night shifts?
Once a CEO, now working at a charity shelter pulling night duties.
Zoe was stunned, feeling he no longer deserved to be with Reenie.
“Go ahead. Just don’t betray our Reenie. If you do, file for divorce yourself. Don’t hold Reenie back.”

Geoffrey stood up. “Don’t worry. I won’t.”
Those four words alone came out firm and resolute.

After arriving in Karaville, Maureen met with Betty before heading to Corporate Headquarters.
Maureen sat inside a nearby cafe waiting for Betty, who carried recording equipment to relay updates anytime.
Gazing at the imposing Corporate Headquarters building, Maureen leaned back in her chair, sipping her coffee nervously,
She didn’t notice someone standing before her until-
“Maureen!”
Maureen turned toward the voice and saw Andrea’s good friend Brenda.
“What are you doing here?”
Brenda could hardly believe her eyes at first. Moving closer, she realized it truly was her.
“Why shouldn’t I be here?”
Maureen found the question absurd.
Brenda snapped, “You nearly got Andie blacklisted! How dare you stay in Karaville? Have you no shame?”
Maureen hadn’t expected anyone to defend Andrea now. She refused to indulge Brenda: “Did I force her to make it?
That video–did I hold a gun to her head?”
“Andie said it was deepfake! That wasn’t her in the footage!”
Brenda shot back instantly.
“You’d take her word for it? Don’t you have a brain of your own?
Verifying its authenticity takes one investigation. Surely the heiress of the Torres family wouldn’t lack the means?”
Brenda was instantly speechless after being snapped at.
She stormed out and immediately called Andrea to tell her Maureen was here.

Chapter267
Andrea was preparing for a new drama.

After her last kneel–and–beg apology, she’d barely gotten back into acting and didn’t want to deal with Maureen right now.
After thanking Brenda, she hung up.
While Brenda was still fuming, she bumped into Noelle stepping out of her car.
Noelle had come because she’d heard Teacher Shi visited Corporate Giant first–she wanted to help her daughter Elizabeth get the music score ahead of others.
“Brenda, who did you say is here?”
Brenda hadn’t expected to run into both mother and daughter today. She snapped, “Your daughter, Maureen.”
With that, she got into her private car.
Hearing Maureen was here, Noelle recalled how Maureen had told her to get lost days earlier.
And that will in Maureen’s hands!
She headed straight to the cafe and spotted Maureen sitting by the window, staring at her laptop. “Mom underestimated you before. Found yourself a job now?”
Noelle rapped her knuckles on the table.
Maureen immediately shut the laptop, hiding the music score on the screen.
Noelle didn’t care anyway–what job could a cripple like Maureen possibly land?
“You rushed me off last time, but I forgot something. Where’s the will?”
She reached out her hand: “Give me the will. You should know I’m your father’s wife. Even with
a will, I’m entitled to half the marital property. Hand over that invalid document.”
