“Where’s your spine, Nathan Garcia? Fight back!”
“Yeah, don’t just bark!”
Nathan wanted to retaliate, but Justin’s kick had left him unable to stand.
Raised with silver spoons, he’d never endured such humiliation.
Staggering up, he muttered curses.
“I’ll bring men to make sure they never return.”
Before he finished, Sean stepped before him, phoenix eyes icy.
“What did you just do to her?”
“That bi-”
As Nathan didn’t get the hint, bodyguards rained punches on his face.
Soon he collapsed, blood foaming at his mouth-
clueless about what wrong he’d committed.
The other young gentlemen around all fell silent.
Sean looked down at him coldly and asked his assistant, “What did he just do?”
The assistant truthfully recounted how the man had tried to humiliate Maureen.
“That hand of his doesn’t need to remain.”
Sean had no mood left for the blind date and went out to find Maureen.
As he left, pleas for mercy echoed behind him.
Those spoiled heirs sighed in disbelief, unable to comprehend who this Miss White was to make Sean lose his temper.
Nathan would likely pay the price today.
When Sean stepped out of the Country Club, Maureen had already vanished.
His hand hanging by his side slightly tightened, regret washing over him for not scrutinizing the attendees earlier.
He’d only intended to put on a show for the old man while humiliating those women desperate to marry into the fami- ly, ensuring they’d never dare agree to such arrangements again.

Never had he expected…
“Find out what connection exists between Miss White and Maureen.”
The assistant hurriedly responded, “Yes.”
Sean paused, then added, “And that man beside her. Who is he?”

Meanwhile, Maureen sat in the car, annoyed to discover Katherine’s blind date had been Sean.
Sean hates me so much. Who knows what he’ll do now that he’s seen me standing in for my friend at this blind date…
What worries me most is dragging Katherine into this.
“Mommy, are you okay?”
Jacob’s voice snapped Maureen out of her thoughts.
She managed a faint smile. “I’m fine. We owe it to your Uncle Justin.”
After thanking Justin, Jacob gently hugged Maureen.
“I wish I were older. When I grow up, I’ll protect you and Uncle Justin.”
A subtle shift crossed Justin’s stern face.
Maureen’s heart softened.
“Okay. Mommy and Uncle Justin will wait for you to grow up.”
With Geoffrey’s bodyguards constantly surveilling Maureen,
she left the Country Club immediately and returned to Katherine’s home.
After lunch and settling Jacob in, Maureen headed to Corporate Headquarters to meet Geoffrey.
CEO’s Office, top floor of Corporate Headquarters.
Geoffrey learned early from his bodyguard that Maureen had gone to the Country Club that morning.
“What was she doing there?”
As far as he knew, the Country Club was a playground for wealthy playboys–a sordid place.
The bodyguard hesitated before replying: “Seems like a blind date.”
Geoffrey’s arrogant eyes narrowed, the air around him turning icy.
So this was the “important matter” she mentioned? A blind date?
Maureen never ceased to surprise him.

His expression darkened instantly.
The bodyguard knew Geoffrey’s temper.
Not daring to provoke him, he quietly slipped out of the office.
Two PM.
Office door knocked.
“Mr. Sutton.”
The moment Maureen entered, she sensed the tension radiating from Geoffrey.
The man lifted his brooding gaze, staring at her with detached coldness that seemed to see right through her.
“Finished your business?”
Geoffrey drawled, the question loaded.
Maureen frowned. “Yes. Didn’t you say yesterday you’d take me somewhere?”
Geoffrey ignored her, rising to stride directly before her.
“What did you do this morning?”
He pinned her with his stare.
The question alone proved he already knew.
Maureen met his scrutinizing gaze without flinching. “Blind date.”
