Suppressing turbulent emotions, she slowly lifted her head. The buttons of his white shirt now hung completely open.

Moving upward, she met Geoffrey’s dark, fathomless eyes.

Geoffrey’s throat tightened.

His large hand seized her wrist, pressing her palm against his body: “Feel this. Familiar?”

Her fingers touched his firm abdomen, palms burning.

“Still can’t remember.”

Her trembling hand wandered aimlessly.

she went looking for him.

Pushing it open slowly, she froze at the sight of Geoffrey and Maureen locked in embrace.

Though disliking Maureen, thoughts of her longed–for grandson made her hesitate briefly before retreating.

Strangely, Geoffrey only kissed her–no matter what she tried, he refused to proceed further.

Brows furrowed, she gritted her teeth and boldly reached for him.

Geoffrey’s throat moved twice before he suddenly stopped, seizing her wrist with inscrutable intensity:

His voice was deep and raspy.

Only he knew how agonizing it had been to hold back.

But he couldn’t just give in to Maureen. He needed to know what she was really after.

Maureen froze, her eyes glistening. “Don’t tell me you don’t want to?”

Geoffrey was certain she had an ulterior motive and abruptly changed

his tone.

“Did you misunderstand something?

I was just helping jog your memory.”

“Let’s call it a day. Time for the banquet.”

So all those six or seven minutes they’d been kissing, he’d just been toying with her?

She didn’t let it show, quietly withdrawing her hand from his body.

Geoffrey headed to the dressing room first to change, then accompanied her to the banquet.

At the 70th Birthday Bash, Sean and Albert had also arrived.

Like other elders, Grandpa Albert wanted to seize this rare opportunity to find Sean a wife.

Sean had been dragged here. After wishing Nicholas well, Grandpa Albert forced him to stay and meet at least twenty young ladies.

“Listen here,” Grandpa Albert snapped. “If you disobey me today, get out of the Robson family.

“Still can’t find a wife? You disgrace the family.”

Sean couldn’t help but feel exasperated.
