“I want to live with Mommy and Daddy!”

The little one cheered happily.

Claudine could hear everything clearly from outside.

Her hand, which had been resting on the doorknob, slowly dropped as she turned and lett.

Even though she had once treated Darlene as her own child, even though she would never be able to have children again, Darlene… was ultimately not her daughter.
