As a working woman, Lindsay had no time for gossip right now; her mind was entirely on work.

They had just released photos of Damian and Claudine, hoping to use their image as a loving couple to attract a wave of young new users.

One had a former wife he couldn’t let go of, the other had a first love torn apart by her own mother.

To make matters worse, both the ‘beloved ex–wife‘ and the ‘unattainable first love‘ had now returned.

As a working woman, Lindsay was already mentally updating her résumé.

Damian flipped through the files on his tablet, the fire in his heart burning ever hotter.

So Claudine and Roberto had such a past!

He tossed the tablet aside, and as it landed, it knocked over the coffee on the desk. Brown liquid flowed across the surface, threatening to ruin the documents.

“Mr. Barrette, let me clean that up!”

Lindsay quickly gathered up the files and called in the cleaning staff.

Damian stood to the side.

He thought about the past described in those files, and wondered why Roberto had suddenly returned to the country.

He even wondered if Roberto had come back for Claudine.

Realizing his own anger, Damian thought he must be too idle.

He couldn’t believe he was digging up things from years ago.

He really must have caught Claudine’s stupidity.

Even if they really were a couple in the past, after all these years, what could possibly happen now!

Besides, he didn’t have any real feelings for Claudine.

He couldn’t care less who that woman had as her first love!

With that thought, much of Damian’s anger dissipated.

Lindsay was checking to see 11 any un

folders had a coffee mark on it.

“Mr. Barrette, this file is dirty. I’ll get you a new folder.”

As she spoke, she opened the folder and took out the documents inside.

When she saw the bold words ‘Divorce Agreement‘ on the cover, she cautiously glanced up at Damian.

Damian noticed her movement and frowned.

“What is it now?”

He took the documents from Lindsay’s hands, and his face immediately darkened.

Lindsay was quick to read the room.

“Mr. Barrette, I’ll step out now.”

Soon, Damian was the only one left in the office.

With a gloomy expression, he flipped through the divorce agreement.

When he saw the date on the last page, he threw the stack of papers aside in anger.

The white sheets scattered through the air, fluttering down onto the carpet.

He stared fixedly at the date on that page.
