Dawn lingered in the doorway in loose sleepwear, her shoulder leaning against the frame. A few strands of hair had slipped free, tracing down her neck and curving along her face. The reminder clicked, and Ethan moved around the desk. He slid open a drawer and pulled out a small box.

Dawn’s eyes darted between his face and the box.
