Rebirth in 1986: Unforgettable Regrets novel Chapter 199

Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Cried Out Loud (Second Release)

"Mom, you’re so annoying." Tang Xian yawned. Ever since Granny Tang went to the county, Wang Aihua was either waking him up or shouting at him.

It was so hard to sleep in, but Wang Aihua kept nagging, making the half-asleep Tang Xian feel really annoyed.

"Now it’s half past ten, do you think it’s still early?" Wang Aihua glared at him and said, "How are you doing in school, how much did you score on the exam this time? A few days ago, you asked Tang Yue, and she said she got second place in her grade."

Wang Aihua had to admit, ever since he started high school, his grades had been getting better!

Back in middle school, his grades were okay but just mediocre, not outstanding.

"Mom, don’t compare me to her." Tang Xian’s face immediately darkened.

His grades were good enough to get into the second-tier middle school, which was already quite an achievement.

"Alright, alright, no comparison. You’re going to school tomorrow, is there any dish you want to bring? I’ll make it for you." Wang Aihua’s voice softened, knowing that Tang Xian probably didn’t do well on the exam. She muttered, "You’re in your second year of high school now; you really need to study hard and get into a university. Don’t end up like your little uncle who didn’t get into college and was too ashamed to come home for years."

"Mom, it’s already good enough that I’m in high school. Even if I get into university, can you afford it?" Tang Xian was already frustrated looking at textbooks, and listening to Wang Aihua’s nagging made it even more annoying.

"How can we not afford it? If we can’t afford it, your little uncle can." Wang Aihua had already made up her mind that if they couldn’t afford college, she’d ask Tang Zhengde and Tang Mingli to help support him.

Tang Zhengyuan is working in the factory now and can earn money; by then, with a little additional support from herself, it would be enough.

"Mom, I’m not my little uncle’s son." Tang Xian retorted as he turned and went back to his room to pack his things.

Wang Aihua was about to start cooking lunch when she saw Tang Xian carrying his stuff as if he was going back to school. She quickly asked, "Tang Xian, where are you going?"

"Back to school." Tang Xian adjusted his backpack, which was filled with clean clothes and a few books, and said, "Mom, I won’t come back next week, I’m going to see dad."

"You’re not coming back?" Wang Aihua raised her voice, "It’s Saturday today, you don’t have classes, why go to school now?"

"Dad will give me living expenses; it saves the bus fare if I go back now." Tang Xian, thinking he looked cool, flicked his long fringe and said, "Mom, you don’t earn a single penny at home, dad said that later on, he can earn sixty yuan a month, so stop worrying about me, worry about yourself. Look at my two aunts, not only are they beautiful, but they also earn money."

"Let’s not talk about the second aunt; she has always been more capable than you, this little aunt is from the Provincial City, she used to run her own shop, making tens of yuan a day."

"Mom, if you could earn tens of yuan a day, would I have to worry about money for school?"

Tang Xian dropped these harsh words, swung his backpack, and left, his contempt clear on his face.

Wang Aihua, struck by her son’s words, was so upset that tears began to fall. She rushed forward, but Tang Xian dashed off like a shot and was out of sight in no time.

"Tang Xian, don’t forget who raised you!" Wang Aihua shouted towards Tang Xian’s retreating figure.

She leaned against the door, clutching her aching chest, feeling a terrible pang of pain.
