"Do you think so?" Tang Yue looked at Zhang Tingyu uncertainly, tilting her head as she pondered. They had only known each other for three years, how could they be like childhood sweethearts?
"Yes," Zhang Tingyu said with certainty. "When you two are together, the vibe is just very comfortable. Also, the way he looks at you, it’s really doting."
"Xiao Yue, I’m really envious of you," Zhang Tingyu sighed emotionally. To meet someone you love at such a good age is both a fortune and a happiness.
Tang Yue couldn’t help but smile, knowing only that she was very happy and secure with Mo Siyu. Being with him made her forget that she had been reborn; she felt like a young girl experiencing her first crush.
The two of them chatted and laughed all the way, and before even entering Jinghua University, they had already become the center of attention.
Both Tang Yue and Zhang Tingyu were undeniably attractive, and their appearance together made them even more the center of interest. As they walked, many people would pass by and then circle back for another look.
As they talked, this was a common occurrence back in high school and neither of them minded. Once they entered campus, since they were enrolled in different departments, they went their separate ways and planned to meet for a meal after registration.
Tang Yue was in the Fashion Design department, which wasn’t a popular major. When she found it, she happened to see a girl dragging a large suitcase and carrying a big bag. The girl had two thick braids and wore clothes that had been washed so many times they had faded to white.
Approaching, Tang Yue saw the girl’s profile, with heavy bangs almost covering her entire face. The girl was struggling to carry her belongings, her determination evident, yet she had never asked anyone for help.
The sight of her reminded Tang Yue of herself in the past; she had been through many similar moments, wishing then that someone would offer her help.
"Do you need help?" Tang Yue asked, holding only her registration materials and nothing else.
"No need," the girl glanced at Tang Yue, then quickly shook her head. Her belongings were dusty, and she was afraid of getting Tang Yue’s pristine clothes dirty.
"Let me help you with your suitcase." Tang Yue volunteered without waiting for a response.
"No need, don’t get your clothes dirty," said the girl, her other hand carrying a bag, unable to use her hands to refuse Tang Yue’s help.
Tang Yue smiled warmly and continued to help, not knowing how heavy the suitcase was or how the girl had managed to carry it from the school gate.
"Thank you," the girl continued to thank her sincerely, her accent revealing her southern roots. Tang Yue casually asked, "Are you from the south?"
"Yes, I’m from Hu Province," the girl responded, showing a bright smile of white teeth.
"Then we are neighbors; I’m from Jiang Province." Tang Yue felt a good vibe from the girl and asked, "Are you also in the design department?"
"No," the girl shook her head repeatedly. "I’m studying law."
Tang Yue stopped in her tracks. "Are you sure you didn’t take the wrong path?"
