Cough, Li Wei somehow felt like he’d been enlightened.
Mo Siyu gave him a sideways glance, matter-of-factly stating, "I miss my wife, is there a problem?"
"Of course not." How could Li Wei dare to disagree, nodding repeatedly.
Mo Siyu said somberly, "You just wish you could miss a wife, but yours doesn’t even know where to be found yet."
Li Wei looked at Mo Siyu with an expression that suggested life had no more love to offer, and couldn’t help but force a smile, saying, "Brother Mo, that’s no way to cheer someone up."
Mo Siyu carefully tucked the photo into his inner pocket and then turned over to sleep.
Now it was Li Wei’s turn to be unable to fall asleep.
So what if he didn’t have a wife?
He wanted to find a wife as well, but stuck with the fleet all day, where was he supposed to find one?
The more Li Wei thought about it, the more miserable he felt.
Right after getting off the train, Lian He had intended to take Tang Yue home, but as soon as she got off, she disappeared without a trace, leaving only Bai Qing with the suitcase.
"Where’s Xiao Yue? Why can’t I see her?" Lian He anxiously scanned the crowd.
Bai Qingliang gave him a cool look, couldn’t even be bothered to reply, and went back to the alleyways carrying the suitcase.
Lian He followed Bai Qing all the way.
Knowing that he couldn’t hide the landlord’s presence, especially since Lian Qingyang knew, Bai Qing didn’t bother to shake off Lian He.
Lian He watched her enter a door in the alley, and then turned to leave, to go see his son Lian Qingyang.
Xiang Yazhi glared at the door and stomped her foot hard, then left together with Lian He.
At the fleet’s medical office.
"What, you’re here again?" Zhao Xiangqian frowned as he looked at the woman holding a basket of fruit, dressed in flashy clothing – this was no ordinary sick visit; it was outright flirtation.
Although dressed in doctor’s attire, she insisted on draping her coat to reveal the skirt underneath, and her long legs.
Zhao Xiangqian lowered his head, passed her the bought congee, and completely ignored the woman.
"Brother Mo, today’s congee is century egg and lean meat congee, tastes pretty good." Zhao Xiangqian opened up the congee and handed it over.
"Brother Mo." The woman’s voice was full of allure, and her eyes were fixed on Mo Siyu as she smiled, "Today I bought you Xu Ji’s nutritious congee, salted pork bone congee, slow-cooked with big bones, so fragrant. Plus, these fruits, Brother Mo, you should eat more."
"Doctor Liu, there’s no need. I’m quite rough around the edges, this is good enough for me." Mo Siyu was holding the century egg and lean meat congee bought by Zhao Xiangqian; it was sold in the canteen downstairs, quite cheap, but tasted good and was rich.
"But this is more nutritious."
Liu Ying opened the congee, from the packaging to the congee itself, it was clearly of a different class, she said, "This is congee I bought from Xu Ji at six in the morning, Brother Mo..."
"Doctor Liu, please eat such nutritious congee yourself," said Mo Siyu as he quickly finished the congee. He handed the bowl to Zhao Xiangqian, raised his eyes to look coldly at Liu Ying, and said, "Also, we’re not familiar, please call me Mo Siyu."
Mo Siyu’s distant words left no face for Liu Ying.
’Pfft’
Zhao Xiangqian lowered his head and chuckled lightly. Brother Mo was gentle only to his little sister-in-law. As for any other girls aside from her, he never had a good word to say. Perhaps the notion of cherishing the fairer sex did not exist in Brother Mo’s eyes at all?
