"Xiao Jin, it was my mistake." Old Master Meng held the family portrait, his tears still hesitating to fall onto the photograph. Regretting deeply, his dear grandson, spoiled by his indulgence, had become increasingly lawless, increasingly...
When Old Master Meng saw the evidence brought by Mo Siyu, he truly felt the urge to strangle Meng Yanzhi to death, but in the end, he couldn’t bring himself to do so.
Old Master Meng dared not tell Meng Jin about this. If Meng Jin found out, he would probably disown Yanzhi immediately.
Old Master Meng thought it would be best to quickly send Meng Yanzhi out of the country. Once abroad, if Yanzhi didn’t return, Meng Jin wouldn’t be able to hold Yanzhi accountable.
As for the mistakes Meng Yanzhi made, Old Master Meng knew he would spend his life trying to make amends.
Dawn was breaking.
Old Master Meng sat in the room, holding the family portrait on the recliner all night, in a half-awake state.
"Who are you? This is Mr. Meng’s residence; no outsiders are allowed to intrude." Qu Feng’s voice rose from outside the house.
Meng Yanzhi slept against the door all night and woke up instantly when he heard the noise.
Just as Meng Yanzhi stood up, he saw uniformed officers walk in, handcuffs in their hands.
"Meng Yanzhi, come with us." They cuffed his wrists right away.
Meng Yanzhi was still confused. He was supposed to leave the country today, how could he be arrested?
"Why are you arresting someone?" Qu Feng stepped forward, trying to stop them from taking Yanzhi away.
"What’s going on?"
Mr. Meng opened the door, looking much disheveled after a night of poor sleep, his originally graying hair now unkempt. Seeing the handcuffs, Mr. Meng’s pupils instantly constricted.
"Mr. Meng," the officer explained respectfully, "We have received evidence that the car accident from ’88 was caused by Meng Yanzhi, and yet someone else took the blame. Furthermore, multiple young girls have accused Meng Yanzhi of kidnapping and causing serious injury, among other serious offenses. Therefore, Mr. Meng, please forgive us."
"Take him away." With that command, they led him away.
Mr. Meng’s body trembled.
"Mr. Meng," Qu Feng quickly stepped forward to support him, comforting, "Mr. Meng, there must be some mistake. Don’t worry, he will be fine."
"It’s over, all is lost." Mr. Meng murmured, and at the moment he saw Meng Yanzhi being taken away, he realized everything was ruined.
Mr. Meng, covering his dizzy head, took some medicine with Qu Feng’s help, and sat down feeling the near-fainting sensation ease a bit.
"Mr. Meng," Qu Feng stood beside, unsure of what to do.
Mr. Meng picked up the phone, and after a long time, Mo Siyu’s voice finally came through on the other end.
"I am Mo Siyu." Mo Siyu’s icy voice traveled through the phone line.
