"Then you're not planning to wait until after graduation to hold the wedding banquet?" Qin Anyu couldn't help but ask.
"The banquet and all that isn't really important," Tang Yue replied, facing Qin Anyu's astonished gaze. She said, "If two people are happy together, even without a banquet, they'll still lead a sweet life together for a lifetime. If they're not happy together afterwards, no matter how lavish the banquet is, it will still end in divorce."
"So whether life after marriage is happy or not really has nothing to do with the banquet." Tang Yue thought for a moment and added, "Moreover, being too extravagant and wasteful isn't good either."
"That's true," Qin Anyu agreed, acknowledging that Tang Yue's words made sense.
"But, for a marriage registration, when both families sit together, you still have to eat, right? What will you wear?" Qin Anyu asked. She had originally thought that Tang Yue would want to wear a wedding dress, but it now seemed that Tang Yue hadn't even considered wearing one.
"A cheongsam," Tang Yue replied without hesitation: "The red one." But it was a modified version of the cheongsam.
She made some modifications to it since short dresses might not be all that popular currently; therefore, she replaced the bottom part with a long red chiffon skirt.
"Have you had it made?" Qin Anyu asked subconsciously.
Tang Yue asked with a puzzled expression, "I know how to make clothes, why would I need someone else to do it?"
Hearing that she made it herself, Qin Anyu insisted on seeing it. When the partially completed cheongsam was brought out, Qin Anyu was stunned. The mandarin-collared cheongsam, with short sleeves suitable for summer, had the upper half in the style of a cheongsam, while the lower half was made of a red chiffon long skirt. Even without putting it on, one could tell that it would look ethereal and beautiful when worn.
The waistline of the cheongsam was nicely done, and when paired with the red chiffon skirt, it looked magical and beautiful.
"These flowers on it, you didn't embroider them yourself, did you?" Qin Anyu asked incredulously while looking at the pattern.
"No," Tang Yue shook her head, "I'm not that versatile. An old lady I met in Su City who specializes in embroidery did this for me, and I think it's beautiful."
The pattern was beautifully done, but not over-the-top, just the style she liked.
"You really like it?" Tang Yue asked.
"I love it," Qin Anyu nodded like pounding garlic, her eyes round and fixed on Tang Yue. Even without speaking, Tang Yue knew what she was thinking. Tang Yue said, "Actually, I made two sets, and the other is a long cheongsam."
Tang Yue went into the house and brought out another cheongsam. This one was a traditional cheongsam, except that the skirt was lengthened, and the slit was lowered a bit. The mandarin collar and the frog buttons were all delicately made.
"It's beautiful," Qin Anyu said, hugging both pieces of clothing, unwilling to let go. She looked at Tang Yue with anticipation and said, "Xiao Yue, you can't wear both at once, why not give me one?"
In terms of body shapes, hers and Tang Yue's were similar, and even their heights differed only slightly. Often, when Qin Anyu ran out of clothes to wear, she would just slip on Tang Yue's.
"Sister An Yu, this is mine," Tang Yue pulled the clothes back in her possession.
Qin Anyu threw herself, clothes and all, onto Tang Yue, pleading in a pitiful voice, "Xiao Yue, how can you be so cruel, not even giving me one piece of clothing?"
"Xiao Yue, my wedding is coming up soon, and I want to wear a cheongsam as well," Qin Anyu had been eyeing the cheongsam for a while but hadn't taken action yet. To put it accurately, Qin Anyu had not yet seen a cheongsam that felt suitable for a wedding.
"Yueyue, I'm your sworn older sister after all. You're saying that when your sworn older sister gets married, you won't give her something?"
"How about gifting me one piece of clothing," Qin Anyu begged earnestly for the beautiful cheongsam, throwing all caution to the wind.
Tang Yue was amused by Qin Anyu's gesture, grinning as she said, "Sister An Yu, when you get married, I'll give you a dress. As for money and other gifts, I won't be giving any."
Tang Yue said begrudgingly, and seeing Qin Anyu's eager face, she couldn't help but laugh. Qin Anyu was really easy to please.
