Lian He’s words oozed endless concern. Heaven knows that when he first received the news, his heart nearly leapt out of his chest.
Passionate Lian He was a bit too much for Taotao to handle.
Outside, Xiang Yawen had already been beaten to within an inch of his life and lay motionless on the ground, even his howls sounding breathless and weak.
Yao Shishi, seized by two men, struggled incessantly, but being just a frail woman with at best some rudimentary fighting skills, she stood no chance against Lian Tong’s elite henchmen, not even making it past a single move.
"Xiao Yue." Lian He looked towards ’Tang Yue’, feeling that there was something off about her today. Abruptly, his face darkened as he said, "You’re not Xiao Yue, who are you?"
"And who are you?" Taotao retorted.
"Uncle Lian, I’m really wronged."
Yao Shishi shouted, seeing that ’Tang Yue’ was safe and sound, she silently cursed in frustration. It had been an hour or two, and yet those people hadn’t touched her. They were utterly useless.
"Where is Xiao Yue?" Lian He’s gaze swept the surroundings, unable to find any trace of Xiao Yue. Suddenly, he thought of Meng Siyu. With his abilities, if something had really happened to Tang Yue, it would be impossible for him not to have shown up by now.
"She’s safe." Taotao answered, indifferent to the relationship this person had with Tang Yue.
As expected, upon hearing this, Lian He instantly felt at ease. He walked over to Yao Shishi and said, "Miss Yao, since you seem so fond of tarnishing others, let’s have you taste the same."
"Bring them medication, and take them to the room," Lian He ordered.
"Uncle Lian, I am Yao Shishi, a member of the Yao Family, you can’t do this to me." Yao Shishi immediately panicked.
"I really came to rescue, not to cause harm," Yao Shishi shouted desperately, but alas, Lian He didn’t pay her any heed.
Lian Tong’s men were all elite; administering the drugs was a quick and easy task. Every man in the room was given a pill, and after forcing a pill into Yao Shishi’s mouth, the door was locked, leaving those inside to scream as they pleased.
After dealing with Yao Shishi, Lian He approached Xiang Yawen, looking down on him from above and said, "You covet my daughter’s life, Xiang Yawen. Who gave you such audacity?"
"I..."
Xiang Yawen struggled to speak, uttering not a complete sentence.
It’s over, he’s finished.
That was the only thought in Xiang Yawen’s mind.
Enduring the pain in his body, he struggled to raise his head to meet Lian He’s icy glare, a look that seemed to want to flay him alive. He knew all too well that once his brother-in-law turned ruthless, it could be...
Xiang Yawen couldn’t help but shiver, a trace of ruthlessness flickering in his eyes. Suddenly, he pulled out a dagger from his waist and stabbed at Lian He.
"Be careful."
Gong Sheng stomped on Xiang Yawen’s hand, squatted down, grabbed his hand, and the dagger plunged into his shoulder, blood gushing out.
"Where’s Xiao Yue?" Lian He didn’t care about Xiang Yawen; he was anxious to find Tang Yue.
Xiang Yawen had meticulously planned his move, but if Meng Siyu didn’t take her to such a place, how could anything happen?
"I’m fine." Tang Yue, dressed as a man, walked in. Hearing Yao Shishi’s screams from inside the room and the smell of blood wafting in the air, the moonlight cast Lian He’s figure long and tall.
Jing City.
Upon receiving the news, Lian Tong immediately grew restless, fearing something might happen to Tang Yue.
