She was about to step back when she felt an added strength around her waist, and as she lifted her head, she found herself lost in his deep, enchanting eyes.
"My dear wife, how could a mere kiss count as a reward?" Meng Siyu’s voice was rich and captivating, like a cello, and his eyes seemed to hold a magnetic pull.
"Then how should I reward you?"
Tang Yue was momentarily stunned; she knew her husband was handsome, but when he looked at her so tenderly and attentively, her heartbeat couldn’t help but quicken, and the heart pounding in her chest felt like it was about to leap out.
Meng Siyu really liked how his wife would dazedly stare at him. He leaned in closer, almost whispering in her ear: "You are not to reject me."
Tang Yue: "..."
Not to reject him!
Didn’t that mean she wouldn’t get a wink of sleep all night?
Tang Yue immediately snapped back to reality, but it was too late. Meng Siyu had already stepped back and quickly slipped into the bathroom to shower.
Tang Yue could only stare at the closed door, fuming.
After a short while, Meng Siyu’s voice came from the restroom.
"My dear wife, I didn’t bring my clothes."
"Whose fault is that?" Tang Yue retorted from the sofa, nestled in.
Meng Siyu said, "My dear wife, if you don’t fetch them for me, I’ll just come out like this since there’s no one else around."
No sooner had he finished speaking than Tang Yue hastily replied: "Don’t! I’ll get them for you, okay?"
When Tang Yue groggily woke up it was already noon the next day. Whiffs of the delicious lunch Meng Siyu had brought stirred her empty stomach into singing its hunger, and she felt immensely unfair looking at Meng Siyu, energized and clad in his training gear.
He had been the one exerting himself, so why was she the one worn out?
She lay in bed not wanting to move even a finger. Despite having slept for so long, it felt as though she could never get enough sleep.
Tang Yue took a change of clothes to the bathroom. Staring at her reflection in the mirror, she still looked charming, yet deep in her eyes was a profound sense of grievance!
If this kept up, would she even need to get out of bed?
Meng Siyu was like a wolf that could never be sated.
Tang Yue was extremely troubled. She used to think her stamina was quite good, but now in front of Meng Siyu, her little bit of energy felt... child’s play.
"My dear wife, time for lunch." Meng Siyu cheerfully called out, his eyes and brows expressing his tenderness as he stood outside the bathroom, kindly offering, "My dear wife, how about I carry you?"
"Get lost." Tang Yue was brushing her teeth and mumbled her rebuttal, she was not so weak as to be carried.
Tang Yue brushed her teeth vigorously, as if by brushing hard she could let out all the annoyance in her heart.
If only she’d known marriage would be like this, she would have postponed it until after graduating from college at all costs. This was truly a miscalculation.
Though the lunch was merely canteen food, for the famished Tang Yue, anything tasted delicious.
With her stomach fully satisfied, Tang Yue contentedly snuggled on the sofa, watching Meng Siyu busily clean up the dishes and tidy the table, her mood couldn’t be any better.
Life at the company went by swiftly, and Tang Yue’s days were leisurely, well, if one could ignore Meng Siyu’s nightly serenades, it would be even more wonderful.
