Rebirth Of The Heiress And The Tycoon's Lover (Alina) novel Chapter 32

Chapter 32

ALINA’S POV.

“Do you have a reservation, ma’am?” A waitress asked me at the door of the five-star restaurant I had just walked into.

“Yes, it should be in the name of Seraphina Dawn.” I informed her.

She glanced at the notepad she was holding before smiling at me.

“Right this way, ma’am.” She led me towards a table where Seraphina was already seated.

“Let’s do this.” I muttered under my breath, wearing my fake smile.

“Hey, sis.” Seraphina got up to hug me, her usual fake smile on her face.

Now that I know what I know, it’s easier to tell what’s real and what’s fake.

“Hi, hope I didn’t keep you waiting for too long?” I asked as I took a seat opposite her.

“Oh not at all,

you are fine.”

“Why did you change our meeting place?” I asked, hoping I hid the suspicion in my voice well enough.

We were supposed to meet at a restaurant, but now we were sitting at a restaurant in a hotel.

“Oh, I had prior engagements here, so I just thought we could meet here, kill two birds with one stone, you know?” She laughed nervously.

The moment she texted me the new address of our meeting place, I had texted it to Talia, asking her to check it out for me. I was yet to receive a response from her.

“Oh, okay.” I forced a smile. “Anyways, the designs are ready, prepare to have your mind blown.” I compelled some excitement into my tone.

“Come on, what’s the rush? Let’s order some food and drinks first, then we can talk.” She

“You know what? That’s a great idea.” I agreed.

My phone vibrated in my purse.

suggested.

“You go ahead and order whatever. I’m sure you know what I like. I’ll just head to the restroom real quick, and I’ll be back.” I informed her, standing up.

“Take all the time you need.” She said eagerly.

I rushed towards the restroom and took the call.

“What took you so long, Talia?” I scolded.

“Sorry, it’s a big hotel, so it took some time to hack into all their surveillance.” She explained.

“That’s alright. So… anything out of the ordinary?” I asked, my tone a mix of anxiousness and impatience.

“Yeah, that bitch is up to no good.” She told me. “She met with two men just ten minutes before you arrived, and she gave

them a card.”

“What card?”

55 vouchers

“A bank card.” She clarified. “Why would she be giving them that unless she’s paying them for a service rendered, or about to be rendered?”

“Where are the men she met?” I questioned.

“They went into one of the rooms,” she responded. “Hold on-” Talia suddenly said, and I could hear the sound of her keyboard.” Seraphina is talking to a waitress right now… she’s handing her a card too… I’d advise you watch what you eat.” Her tone held worry.

She didn’t have to tell me twice. I had no intention of getting drugged twice in a row.

“I’ll be careful.” I assured her.

“I’ll keep watch just in case. Call me if anything.” She said sternly.

“Thank you, Talia.” I said gratefully before going back to the table.

Seraphina had ordered when I got there. I looked at the banquet on the table.

Was she expecting a damn football team?

“This looks yummy.” I commented, sitting down.

“I know, right? I ordered the kitchen special.” She smiled.

I eyed the food skeptically, but I knew there was no way she would drug the food unless she drugged every plate. And since she was also eating it, she wouldn’t risk it.

I noticed her glancing over my shoulder, but I pretended not to see her. Almost immediately, a waitress appeared with a tray holding two glasses of champagne.

Bingo.

I pulled out the binder holding the designs from my bag and placed it on the table in front of me.

“On the house.” The waitress said, placing it on the table before walking away.

“Just what I needed.” I smiled.

I picked up the glass in front of me, watching as Seraphina’s eyes lightened in anticipation.

“I want to make an apology for slapping you the other time. I didn’t have a choice, and that’s why…” I put down the champagne glass and grabbed the binder. “I put a lot of effort into this design.” I finished, stretching it towards her. “Take it.” I urged.

She placed her own glass down and stretched her hand to grab it. I let it go just before her hand could touch it, making it fall to the ground.

“Oh my God, I’m so sorry.” I said apologetically.

“It’s no worries.” She waved me off, not suspecting a thing.

She leaned down to pick up the binder, and that was enough time for me to swap our glasses.

By the time she leaned up, I was holding her glass in hand while mine sat in front of her.

“Now… let’s toast to forgiveness, sisterhood, and ruling the fashion world.” I smiled, extending my glass to her.

“Cheers.” She smiled, clicking her glass with mine.

I brought the glass to my lips, noticing as she watched me, and drank it in one gulp.

Satisfied, she took a huge sip from the drugged glass.

“Let’s eat.” Her tone was excited.

I placed a few bites on my plate and began to happily munch on my food.

After eating, she began to go through the designs, taking small sips from the glass.

I yawned.

She noticed.

“Ake you okay?” she asked, feigning worry.

“I’m good.” I waved her off. “Is there any adjustment you would like me to make?” I asked her instead.

“Not at all. Everything looks perfect.” Her attention returned back to the designs.

It’s not like she would know if any adjustment should be made anyways. She had zero knowledge of designs. The closest thing she knows about designs was wearing them.
