Ariana gave a shallow smile and nodded. It was not unusual for a family business to arrange suitable jobs for relatives.

He paused, then asked, "I noticed you didn't talk much with the vice president today. Did you two... argue?"

Just as they entered, Ariana discovered that most people there were from the Stone Group. They were quite surprised to see Ariana and Johan coming together to eat.

It was indeed strange, Ariana had just married Lambert yesterday. Following tradition, they should be in the honeymoon phase, being super sweet with each other.

They didn't go on a honeymoon, but it was odd enough for them to work separately without much interaction.

Seeing the worried look on her face, Johan comforted, "Are you worried that they might misunderstand? How about we choose another place instead?"

Ariana glanced at him, occupied a vacant seat, and said, "We've already walked in under everyone's watchful eyes. If we exit now, it would only make things more obvious."

Why would she choose another place? She deliberately picked a lively place.

"But…" Johan still seemed hesitant.

She waved a waiter over, casually ordered something off the menu, and passed it to Johan.

Seeing Ariana disinterested, he didn't think much of it and ordered a steak, specifying, "I'd like it to be medium-well, please."

After ordering, Johan noticed that many people still had their eyes on them. He stared at Ariana who was indifferently replying to a message on her phone, and chuckled, "You are so calm. Aren't you afraid that people might gossip, and the Vice President might get jealous and misunderstand?"

Interestingly, after what Ariana had just said, and seeing how Lambert's face slightly darkened upon seeing them sitting at the same table, Johan felt a bit uneasy.

Ariana raised her eyebrows at them, her lips curled into a light smile, and said, "What a coincidence."

Beverly reached out and clung to Lambert's arm, deliberately ignoring the look on his face, she smiled sweetly, "Lambert, shall we eat here too?"

Lambert didn't say anything, just kept looking at the composed Ariana, and then the two of them sat down.

The food that Ariana and Johan had ordered was served first. She smiled and said, "Then I'll start eating now."

Beverly was clearly hugging Lambert's hand on purpose, but Ariana did not react at all, instead, she began to eat as if she didn't see anything, which made both Johan and Beverly dumbfounded.
