Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 221

In the following few days, neither Ariana nor Lambert made an appearance. Even though Gilbert and his wife were worried sick, in the trust of their daughter and son-in-law, they held back and just anxiously waited at home.

Despite the inner voice telling him that he should trust his daughter, the magnitude of their situation being solved in just five days still felt somewhat unreal to him. He had also prepared himself for the worst-case scenario.

Georgia, seeing how anxious her husband was, heaved a sigh in her heart and gently reassured him, "Ari and Lambert will definitely find a way. Don't be overly anxious."

Gilbert was in distress, rubbing his aching temple, he said, "Indeed, Ari's performance in the company has greatly impressed me lately, but I still fear for her ability to handle such a large matter. After all, she's still in school, intrinsically lacking in experience." Of course, he himself was helpless too.

The fact that he was helpless made him even more concerned about Ariana's ability to solve their problem.

He would never blame his daughter for their predicament. Still, being anxious was inevitable.

Even though Georgia is the wife of White Corporation's Chairman, she didn't know much about handling the company's affairs or its processes. Therefore, at this time, all she could do was advise her husband not to worry too much. Deep down, though, she hoped that perhaps her daughter really did have a solution.

After all, didn't they still have Lambert, their son-in-law, lending them support?

Perhaps overly troubled by the situation, Gilbert shook his head, ceasing to ponder on the matter, and instead asked about Jane. "How has that girl, Jane, been in the sanatorium recently? She hasn't had any episodes, has she?" Being a niece whom he had personally raised, and also the daughter of his dearest brother, he did not instinctively connect her past misdeeds to her.

Despite the overwhelming evidence proving that Jane was no longer the pitiful little girl from his memory.

But he was still unwilling to accept it.

He was more inclined to believe that Jane was beguiled by Vincent's sweet nothings, which led her to her current state.

Georgia sighed, saying, "Just let it be, the doctors said she might need more treatments." She had visited her in person a few days earlier. Upon seeing Georgia, Jane's eyes immediately brightened, and she rushed towards her.

Tears streaming down her face, she melted Georgia's heart in an instant.

However, her next statement quickly deflated Georgia's short-lived sympathy.

She clung to Georgia's arm, weeping and exclaiming in fear, "Auntie! Ariana is not human. She's possessed by a wandering spirit! What's happening to me is all because of her, you must believe me! Now that she's harmed me, she'll definitely harm you and Uncle too!"

At this point, Georgia's expression darkened.

The softness in her eyes hardened instantly.

For parents, even if they are fond of a child, they instinctively inclined toward their own. If it wasn't for Jane's delirious state, Georgia would have been angered. After all, no mother can bear her child being cursed.

Indeed, a curse.

To Georgia, Jane's claim that Ariana is a wandering spirit sounded like a curse wishing her daughter an early death.

Upon hearing his wife's words, Gilbert couldn't help but furrow his brows.

He frowned and uttered, "It seems that this child was deeply traumatized by Vincent. I blame myself for not seeing through that kid sooner! Not only did he cause the rift between Jane and Ari, but also drove Jane to this state. I owe an apology to my brother for not teaching Jane properly. If only I hadn't spoiled her as much, and had been as strict with her as with Ari, perhaps Jane wouldn't have turned out this way."

The much younger Kiara was also missing.

That left only Jane from his brother's family, hence Gilbert pampered her tremendously.

But he never stopped looking for another niece. He will never stop until he gets the news of Kiara's death.

The ongoing search could be considered as a consolation for his deceased brother and sister-in-law.

Georgia shook her head, "There's no news."

Over the years, she has given up hope, but her husband never stopped searching. Although Georgia sighed, she said nothing. In her opinion, poor Kiara, the child, could have already passed away by now. After all, she was even younger than Jane at the time. How could she have the ability to protect herself?

Even if she had survived by chance, what would she do afterwards?

Not to mention that the kidnapping incident coincided with a massive earthquake. So, in Georgia's heart, the poor child Kiara might have already left this world.

Gilbert was silent for a while, then he continued, "Regardless, continue the search. Unless I see with my own eyes that Kia is truly dead, I can't give up." His brother, before his death, was holding his hand, asking him to take care of his two daughters.

How could he bear to fail his brother's dying wish?

Georgia was already used to her husband's attitude, so she only sighed lightly and nodded without saying anything.
