At that moment, Ariana was oblivious to Zara's excitement once she left the room.
She glanced excitedly at the office behind her, a smile steadily growing in her eyes.
Coincidentally, as she had just pushed the door into the CEO's office, she overheard a bit of the discussion between CEO Stone and this woman he called his wife. She understood the CEO's married life was anything but pleasant.
CEO Stone's expression remained cold when she walked into the office.
This confirmed her suspicion about the discord between the CEO and his wife.
Just at that moment, Assistant Hills went to fetch water and turned his head to see Zara’s beaming expression, puzzled about the reason for her happiness. Assistant Hills squinted at her and pondered over her appearance before the office of CEO Stone. Then he asked nonchalantly, "Did you go to CEO Mu's office?"
Seeing Assistant Hills, Zara paused for a bit and then haughtily responded, “So what? Can I not?”
Assistant Hills’s expression remained indifferent, ”CEO Stone and his wife are in the office. Unless it’s important, try not to disturb him.”
Zara immediately revealed a sarcastic smile.
She thought to herself if Assistant Hills knew that CEO Stone was actually arguing with his so-called wife, would he still say such things? Zara hated Assistant Hills, not just because he often spoiled her plans but also due to his indifferent attitude towards her.
She found it hard to endure.
She used to bear with it, but now she barely could.
However, she didn't want to fall out with Assistant Hills. After all, she was just an assistant right now, nothing more. Once she became the CEO's wife, she'd deal with him properly!
With these thoughts, Zara’s face broke into a smirk, she coldly responded, "Madam is in the office, so what? I was just delivering a document, just regular work." She insinuated that the visit by the CEO's wife was the actual disturbance to her and the CEO's work.
Assistant Hills’s eyebrows furrowed slightly, he warned, "Watch your words."
Zara laughed sarcastically, "What? Don't tell me I'm wrong. Isn't that why I came to the company? To work? Assistant Hills, you're being a bit too cautious, aren't you? Oh, I almost forgot, I just saw you heating the lunch Mrs. had brought over earlier. That fawning expression was a first for me." She approached Assistant Hills, her voice lowering, "Just a word of advice, don't flatter the wrong person, or try to clamber up the wrong tree. If you do, it's not just bad luck you'll be facing." With that, Zara flashed Assistant Hills a sweet smile and left, her high heels tapping gracefully against the floor.
Assistant Hills, expressionless, was left standing in that spot. He glanced down at the cup in his hand, his eyes hinting at some consideration.
"Just who's going to be the unlucky one?" He thought to himself sarcastically.
However, he quickly forgot about the incident, after all, he had too many other things to handle. He didn't have the time to waste on someone who won't stay long in the company. He straightened his expression and returned to his desk.
