Lambert stared at Old Mr. Stone's retreating figure, his expression silent and unspoken.
Hugh also felt a slight twitch at the corners of his mouth.
However, in order not to stimulate Old Mr. Stone again, he lightly coughed and said tactfully, "Dad wants to spend more time with the child. the housekeepers and servants are around, so there is no need to worry."
Lambert remained silent.
He didn't continue watching Old Mr. Stone but went upstairs with Ariana.
Hugh thought his son had understood his words. He felt extremely relieved and thought to himself, "Being a father really changes a person. He has become much more mature."
But what he didn't know was that his son did not have much affection for his son. Seeing that Old Mr. Stone was willing to take care of the child, he naturally had no objections.
Meanwhile, the second family came to visit Old Mr. Stone. It just so happened that the first family also came today, thus the two families ran into each other. Arnold glanced at Finley and his new sister-in-law, Gwen, then asked casually, "Are you here to visit Old Mr. Stone too?"
Finley smiled casually and said, "Yeah. I should have visited the main house more frequently right after marrying Gwen, but I got distracted by the birth of Lambert's child. I finally found some free time today, guessing that Old Mr. Stone would also have some, so I brought Gwen with me. Are you here for the same reason, brother?"
Arnold's stayed the same, even when Finley mentioned Lambert's child, his countenance remained the same.
He just chuckled and replied, "Indeed, I came today because I have some good news to share with Grandfather. Seeing you here, I guess I can share the news with you before going to the second uncle and aunt."
Finley suddenly had a bad feeling about this. He frowned and asked, "What good news?"
Arnold revealed a mysterious smile and glanced at Finley then said, "We'll talk about it when we see grandfather."
Beverly had been standing next to Arnold all this time. She also smiled proudly at Finley and Gwen, indicating she was in a good mood too.
Upon hearing this, Finley instantly panicked.
He had no idea what good news Arnold was talking about, but judging from their expressions, it was likely to be detrimental to him.
Gwen, who was standing by Finley's side, grabbed his hand, signaling him not to panic and first meet Old Mr. Stone.
Finley thought for a while and steadied his mind. The four of them headed towards the main villa. By the time they arrived, their eldest uncle and his wife had already been there, though their expressions seemed a little off. Following the gaze of his parents, Arnold saw Old Mr. Stone in the back garden, amusing Lambert's son with great relish.
His heart turned bitter, but he said nothing.
Seeing Arnold and Finley's arrival, Old Mr. Stone raised his eyebrows and asked, "What's the special occasion today? Why are you all here together?" He was in a good mood today, holding his great-grandson gave him a sense of fulfillment and hence his tone was quite friendly.
Finley was the first to reply, "Grandpa, I brought Gwen to see you and Grandma."
Old Mr. Stone glanced at Gwen and Finley, then said, "Mm, have a seat."
Finley quickly shook his head, "No, we can stand."
Old Mr. Stone didn't bother persuading and kept amusing his great-grandson who was fluttering his large eyes and flailing his arms, seemingly trying to express something.
Arnold was slightly upset and so were his parents, but the two managed to restrain themselves. It was Khloe who took a deep breath and spoke first. She said smilingly, "Dad, we are here today to give you and Mom a piece of good news. Beverly is pregnant!"
