Rebirth Revenge Is Everything (Ariana) novel Chapter 400

For a fleeting moment, Jerold thought his father had figured something out.

But he quickly composed himself, feigning ignorance as he said, "Dad... I know what I'm doing. Trust me, I have my reasons for choosing Arnold."

His father waved a hand dismissively. "Do as you please. I'm just offering some advice."

A pang of heartache struck Jerold, but he forced it down, replying, "Thanks, Dad."

Mr. Morris wasn’t blind; he could see the pain in his younger son’s eyes. But he also knew this boy had always been more cunning than his elder brother. Jerold’s talents lay in negotiation and persuasion, not management—that was Stefan’s forte.

If only the two brothers could work together, Mr. Morris thought wistfully. The Morris Group would undoubtedly reach new heights.

But deep down, he knew that was unlikely. He sighed heavily, the weight of his unspoken hopes pressing down on him.

Jerold clenched his teeth, saying nothing more. He cast one last, lingering glance at his father before turning and walking away. A fierce sense of injustice burned within him—why did his father only see Stefan?

He believed he was every bit as capable as his brother, if not more. Why couldn’t his father see that?

A shadow of bitterness and cold determination flickered in Jerold’s eyes. He would prove himself to his father. He would show him that he was stronger, far stronger, than Stefan. Stefan might think he’d made the right choice, but he was wrong. The Stone family would undoubtedly fall to Arnold, and with him by his side, he would seize control of the Morris Group.

He would crush Stefan beneath his feet—

And make his father see that from the very beginning, the most capable son had always been him and him alone.

Time slipped by quietly, and over a day had passed. The first branch had been keeping a close eye on Lambert’s every move. After cautiously observing that Lambert showed no signs of suspicion and had indeed sold the company to someone else, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.

But what they didn’t know was that Lambert had only pretended to sell it to someone else. In reality, the buyer was Angelo. Although Angelo and Lambert were secretly very close, on the surface, no one knew they were actually good friends—brothers, even. Their relationship seemed to have no overlap, which was precisely how they managed to deceive the first branch.

Angelo casually crossed his legs, leaning back in his chair. “Next step, you should return to the Stone family,” he said.

Lambert replied calmly, “I know.”

Angelo speared a piece of apple with his fork and continued, “I’ve got a good handle on Jerold’s side. That guy Stefan is also under surveillance, so no need to worry. I’ve already sent someone in to keep an eye on things. I’ll make sure my son doesn’t get hurt.”

Lambert shot Angelo a cold glance. He wanted to remind him that it was *his* son, not Angelo’s. But arguing about it now would only make him look as foolish as Angelo. So, he let it slide and focused on the matter at hand. “Are you confident?” he asked, the underlying question being whether Angelo trusted his people.

Angelo’s eyes narrowed, and he chuckled dryly. “Brother, that sounds like a challenge.”

Lambert’s expression remained indifferent. “Not at all. I just want to be sure.”
