"The old man transferred me to the company to curry favor with the Lawrence family, starting today," Lambert explained.

Ariana looked dumbfounded, "But he was so angry yesterday, why all of a sudden today..."

She initially thought Old Mr. Stone would first resort to his usual tricks – blocking credit cards, house arrest, or other such measures. Unexpectedly, he did not bow to convention.

Lambert playfully asked, "What do you think?"

Ariana was not stupid. Seeing Lambert’s attitude, she guessed his meaning more or less.

Old Mr. Stone was indeed still angry, but he still transferred Lambert to the company. It also indirectly showed that for Old Mr. Stone, the company's benefits are much more important than Lambert's happiness.

Seeing her somewhat flippant tone, Arnold's face became even more unpleasant. But thinking about that piece of prime real estate, which was now in the possession of Ariana, he said gently, "So it is. Miss White, please sit down, let’s talk about our collaboration."

"No..."

She waved her hand, "This matter was initially discussed with Lambert, I’d prefer to continue discussing with him to avoid mistakes during the handover."

"You..."

Arnold was momentarily speechless, glaring at Lambert.

The Stone family was dead set on acquiring that piece of land. Yet, Arnold was outbid by another mysterious buyer, missing the opportunity. Therefore, he purposely let Lambert handle the issue so that even if they didn't get the property, old Mr. Stone would blame Lambert for it.

But he never expected that this mysterious buyer would be Ariana.

As much as Arnold wanted to lash out, he had to suppress his dissatisfaction and speak softly, "If that's the case, you two carry on with your discussion, I have a meeting to attend."

With this, he turned around and swiftly left the office.

Ariana couldn't be bothered to pay any more attention to Arnold. Once he was out of sight, she turned to look at Lambert with a teasing smile, "Even you have times when you get bullied."

Usually, it was Lambert bullying her. Now seeing Lambert held at bay by someone else, she felt an odd sense of satisfaction.

Lambert glanced at the door Arnold had exited through, calmly stating, "He is at his wit's end, but can do nothing about it."

Old Mr. Stone has been pressuring Arnold to secure the piece of land quickly but Arnold failed to do so. He quietly handed it over to Lambert, who aggravated Arnold even more with his unconcerned manner.
