After this meeting was finalized, the two teams had to work together to make the best design as soon as possible. They had become busy already and could not spare anyone else.

On the other hand, after Lambert returned to his office, he had been engrossed in his documents.

Beverly walked into the office with a cup of coffee. Seeing Lambert, she lightly curled her lips. As she approached him, she deliberately pretended to trip and accidentally spilled the coffee on his suit.

Lambert was momentarily stunned, furrowing his brows as he looked at Beverly.

"I'm sorry, Lambert! I'm so sorry!" Beverly hurriedly took out a handkerchief and tried to clean the coffee stain on Lambert's suit, apologizing with a guilty face.

Just as Lambert was about to stop her, a knock on the door disrupted them. Ariana walked in with a playful smile, "Oh! I'm sorry, it seems like... I came at the wrong time!"

Ariana didn't expect to encounter Beverly seemingly leaning into Lambert's embrace. However, Ariana was not foolish. Noticing the coffee stains on Lamert's suit, she immediately understood that Beverly had done it on purpose.

Beverly glared at Ariana when she heard her mocking tone. "Ariana!"

Taking advantage of the interruption, Lambert gently pushed Beverly aside and spoke in a polite but distant tone, "It's alright, you can go out first."

"Lambert!" Beverly looked at him in disbelief and retorted, "I'm your fiancee, and you're asking me to leave?"

She felt utterly humiliated. Did she, Beverly, have to leave just because Ariana was here?

Lambert said helplessly, "Miss Lawrence, I need to discuss some work matters with Manager White."

"What work matters can't be discussed in front of others? Only illicit affairs are something to be hidden!" Beverly said, casting a cold glance at Ariana.

Ariana raised an eyebrow slightly. Was she being targeted just for bringing over a document?

"Miss Lawrence, you're overthinking," she said.

In a cold sneer, Beverly said, "I'll believe anyone but you!"

Ariana was growing tired of her wild accusations.

Lambert finally spoke, "Miss Lawrence, your behavior is affecting work. If you can't fulfill your duties as a secretary, you should leave."

"You!"

He had said it himself, how could Beverly not comply? With a glare at Ariana, she gritted her teeth and left the room.

Ariana raised her eyebrow at her, indifferently dismissing her.

Yet, she was slightly surprised to hear Lambert refer to Beverly as his secretary.

Lambert removed his dirtied blazer. Seeing the mutual dislike between her and Beverly, he asked with a smile, "What's wrong?"

She handed him the document she brought, saying, "Your stuff was delivered to me by mistake."

Upon hearing this, Lambert took the document and noticed that she still had a displeased expression. He said, "You seem to be very unhappy."

Ariana asked: "Why should I be upset?"

Her concern only motivated the workers further and they cheered in agreement.

Ariana glanced at her watch and joked, "It's already past five. Everyone, please enjoy the meal, feel free to order whatever you like. But, please, no alcohol to avoid any accidents, and if you live far away, you might want to head home after eating."

Supervisor Parker led the crowd and shouted, "Let's all thank General Manager White."

"Thank you, Miss White!" everyone echoed.

Right then, the food had arrived.

When they sat down and began to eat and chitchat about rumors in the Stone Group, Ariana's phone rang.

She pulled it out and saw it was a call from Lambert. Without thinking, she excused herself from the room to answer the call. However, before she could say anything, she felt something cover her face, and then she lost consciousness.

When Ariana woke up in a daze, as soon as she opened her eyes, she saw a man who looked like a doctor looking at her.

The doctor noticed she was awake and said to the person near him, "Sir, she's awake."

Ariana was stunned and then followed the doctor's gaze. Old Mr. Stone was sitting in the room on a couch, his face icy and stern.

"How did I end up here?"

Ariana's words came out weakly, surprising herself. She looked to Old Mr. Stone for an explanation.

She vaguely remembered being in the middle of a meal, before receiving Lambert's call. She stepped out to answer the phone, and suddenly everything went dark. And when she woke up, she was here.

Realizing that she had been kidnapped, she became furious and tried to get up, but she found herself weak and powerless, with a look of astonishment on her face.
