Before Su Jinxiu could speak, Su Miao continued crying: "I stayed at Auntie’s house for a while before, I’m grateful to you, but I also worked for you. I did household chores as well, and later when you chased me away, I didn’t complain to my dad. Why are you so relentless? You beat me in the middle of the night, accusing me of seducing Uncle! How am I supposed to live in the village if you say that about me? I know you’re pregnant and not in a good mood, but you can’t treat me like this! I don’t want to live anymore!"
She said she was about to hit the low wall of the house.
The crowd gasped in shock, and Ding Qiuyue quickly intervened to stop her. The mother and daughter cried together: "What are you talking about!"
"Mom, it hurts so much! I’m from the village, does that mean Auntie isn’t from the village? Always assuming the village women want to seduce her husband!"
Su Minjian frowned without speaking, looking at his sister.
Su Jinxiu felt faint, almost passing out, this wretch! Spoke out first, now if I say she seduced my husband no one will believe it!
Zhao Yingjun, with a stern face, turned and slapped Su Jinxiu: "What do you take me for? A beast in human skin? How can I enter this house? We’re husband and wife, and you insult me like this?!" No matter the thoughts, it’s unacceptable for the wife to speak them out directly, especially in front of so many people.
Su Jinxiu staggered from the slap, her mind quickly clearing. She dared not say more, only covered her face and cried.
The neighbors watching saw Su Jinxiu standing there so fierce, broader and taller, cursing, while Su Miao stood in front petite and delicate, pitiful, thinking Su Jinxiu was shameless.
Su Minjian waved his hand: "It’s all a laugh, huh? Everyone’s drunk, and it’s gotten noisy. No big deal, hurry home, it’s quite cold, head back quickly!"
"Village chief, you should head back too, it’s pretty cold." The crowd couldn’t say much and went back together.
All thinking how Su Jinxiu had changed in the city, treating her niece so harshly, looking down on villagers? Aren’t you from the village too!
After everyone left, Su Minjian said: "Alright, go back inside."
"Brother!" Sun Jinxiu began crying in grievance.
"Enough!" Su Minjian said: "I’m glad you visited, but you’re busy too, with New Year’s around the corner, I need to give money and gifts to villagers, I don’t have time to entertain you. Head back tomorrow morning." He didn’t expect his daughter suffered so much at Sun Jinxiu’s house, even being chased away.
But Su Miao hadn’t said anything, truly understanding, yet Su Jinxiu was too out of line!
Seeing her brother treating her so coldly, Sun Jinxiu felt even more wronged, why doesn’t anyone believe me!
Zhao Yingjun held Su Jinxiu, eyes full of warning: "Say one more word and I’ll divorce you! Head back tomorrow, you’ve disgraced me completely!" He finished and left, not returning to his room, instead going to his brother-in-law’s to apologize.
Su Jinxiu trudged back to the room, heart in turmoil.
She was the one being bullied! How could Su Miao turn it around with just a few words? No one believes me! Fine, I’ll leave tomorrow, anyway I bore Zhao Yingjun a son, if he wants a divorce, it’s a delusion!
Crying, she returned to the room, slipping off her shoes climbing onto the bed, but as soon as she lay down, she remembered something, where is my son?!
She immediately sat up, then her mind buzzed, the small blanket where her son was supposed to be still there, but the quilt and the child were gone!
Su Jinxiu screamed and rushed out.
The crowd stood shocked at her words. Zhao Yingjun quickly ran outside, back to his room, and sure enough! Large footprints on the bed, someone must’ve come in while everyone was outside, took the child and ran!
