The woman laughed angrily, "No problem with you two being in bed together? I’ve caught you in the act, and you still shamelessly deny it, disgraceful!"
The other woman’s voice was soft and weak, "Da Bao, help me out, will you? Sister-in-law is angry, and we really don’t have that kind of relationship!"
"Shut it, fox spirit! How dare you call him Da Bao? You’ve already gotten into bed with him, what else is there to deny? I’ll tear that fox spirit face of yours!" Guihua’s voice changed, filled with class hatred and national animosity towards this woman.
Another round of banging sounds, and the woman screamed, "Don’t hit me, please spare me, sister-in-law, I’ll quit my job now and leave, okay?"
Everyone shouted, "The fox spirit is trying to run!"
Guihua also screamed not to let her escape, but Sun Chan was worried about the pregnant woman’s nervousness—what if something happened? Just as she opened the door, she heard Guihua’s miserable cry, followed by a thud as something fell to the floor, and someone shouted.
"Ah! There’s blood, what should we do now?
The husband was also terrified, "Wife, Guihua!"
Something indeed happened! Sun Chan opened the door to see a woman in her twenties sitting on the ground, painfully clutching her stomach. Her face was haggard, her clothes were nice, and the man beside her, dressed in a suit, appeared to belong to such a scene.
He anxiously supported her arm, "Guihua! Get up, let’s go to the hospital."
Guihua screamed in tears, "Wang Dabao, that woman did this to me! Aren’t you human?"
Wang Dabao slapped himself hard, and his face swelled in an instant, "I was really wrong, but let’s talk about this later. Saving you is the priority now."
As he helped Guihua up, he saw the blood on the floor, his vision went black, and he loosened his hold. If it weren’t for Sun Chan and another woman going over to support her, Guihua would have fallen again.
Wang Dabao leaned against the wall, struggling to speak, "I can’t see blood, Guihua, you just go to the maternity hospital! I’ll wait for you there!" After saying that, he ran off quickly.
Someone burst out cursing, "What kind of person is this? His own wife is giving birth, and he just runs off without a care!"
Most people just watched the commotion, but when it came to actually dealing with it, they couldn’t do it, so gradually they all left.
Only Sun Chan and the woman who helped earlier stayed. Sun Chan saw that at the door of the room where Wang Dabao had just come out, there was a quilt thrown, and she quickly grabbed it, letting the woman support Guihua outside.
"Get to the hospital first!" Guihua cried out in pain with every step, tears continuously streaming down.
"I really regret it! Why did I have a child with someone like this? My life is so bitter..."
Sun Chan supported her waist, comforting her, "It’s okay, big sister, you’ll be fine. Don’t think about anything now, think about your child, you need to be strong. Deep breaths, deep breaths!"
Fortunately, having read something about maternity care before, she comforted her as the book suggested.
The other woman helped hail a tricycle, saying she had to catch a train and left.
Only Sun Chan accompanied the pregnant woman to the hospital. She placed the quilt on the tricycle, let Guihua lie on it, and held her hand to calm her down.
She smiled at Guihua, "In our village, the women say seeing blood first before childbirth is a good sign, you’ll give birth soon, don’t worry. Deep breaths, don’t overthink."
