In the middle of the night, Guo Anyi indeed developed a fever.
When Yunyi arrived, the little guy kept mumbling, "Grandpa, don’t leave, I want to go home."
His voice was particularly soft. If Yunyi hadn’t been close by and possessed exceptional hearing, she probably wouldn’t have been able to make out what the child was saying. Her heart was filled with mixed emotions.
She wasn’t sure about the Guo Family’s situation. However, trouble at home must have prompted them to send the child to his paternal aunt. Unexpectedly, the aunt couldn’t establish herself in her husband’s family, and he suffered along with her. Sigh!
The medicine couldn’t be fed to him, so she had to grind the pills into powder and mix it with water to help him take it.
Seeing the child was very feverish and fearing convulsions, she gave him an acupuncture treatment. When she saw a slight sweat on his forehead, she finally felt relieved.
She said to the public security officer standing guard, "Keep an eye on him. Don’t let him kick off the covers. Once he sweats, the fever will naturally subside. Call me if anything happens."
The officer nodded. "Alright."
As Yunyi turned to leave, someone tugged at the hem of her clothes. "Don’t go."
Yunyi saw that the child had not opened his eyes, yet he was gripping her clothes tightly, refusing to let go. Perhaps she thought of her own children from her past two lives, and her heart softened.
She turned back and gently comforted him, "I won’t leave. You sleep tight, and you won’t feel so bad when you wake up tomorrow."
As she spoke, she gently patted his blanket. "Sleep now."
Yunyi’s scent brought great comfort to Guo Anyi, and he soon fell asleep.
She didn’t rush off. Instead, she made sure he was sound asleep before carefully pulling her clothes from his grasp. Then, she tapped his sleep acupoint once more before leaving.
