To Yunyi’s surprise, Guo Shuiyu came to the clinic with her father before she left. When they didn’t find her there, they went to her home.
Yunyi was talking with Huo Jingrui when she heard a knock on the front door. She went out and asked, "Who is it?"
Then, a somewhat familiar voice, noticeably more cheerful than before, called out from outside, "We’re here."
Opening the door, she saw Guo Shuiyu. "So you’re leaving?" As she spoke, she let the two of them into the courtyard.
Guo Shuiyu nodded. Pointing at Yunyi, she said, "Dad, this is Doctor Chu. If not for her help, our Anyi might not have survived. I also owe my life to Doctor Chu’s intervention."
Old Master Guo stepped forward, about to bow deeply to Yunyi.
Yunyi quickly steadied him. "Mr. Guo, please don’t. It was no trouble at all."
"Doctor Chu," Guo Shuiyu interjected, not seeing it that way, "I will never forget your immense kindness. I was weak then and nearly harmed Anyi. Without your help, I dread to think what would have become of him."
Old Master Guo then added, "We came in such a hurry that we didn’t prepare a thank-you gift, which is very impolite. You truly deserve this bow; after all, Anyi and Shuiyu are the most important people to me."
He then took a pen and a small notebook from his pocket, quickly jotted something down, tore out the page, and handed it to Yunyi. "Please keep this safe. If you ever need anything from the Guo Family, just contact us. As long as it’s within our capabilities and doesn’t violate any laws or regulations, we will do our utmost to help."
Yunyi accepted it. After all, no one could predict the future. It was best to keep the note; it might prove useful, and accepting it would also put their minds at ease.
They didn’t go inside, merely exchanging a few polite words in the courtyard before departing. They had come in secret, after all, knowing that the Zhang family lived in the next village, and they didn’t want to cause Yunyi any trouble.
Yunyi watched them leave before turning back into the courtyard. She understood then that Qi’er’s mother, back in Zhang Family Village, must have helped Guo Shuiyu send out a letter asking for help. This was for the best; it saved Guo Shuiyu from staying and enduring endless scoldings and beatings every day.
Huo Jingrui looked at her with a hint of playful resentment. "I can’t even have a quiet moment with you without someone interrupting."
Yunyi looked at him, amused. "Didn’t you say you’re closer now and can visit whenever you have time? Are you still worried we won’t have enough time together?"
Huo Jingrui pulled her into the house. "There’s a very important meeting tomorrow, so I have to leave in a bit."
Yunyi hadn’t realized he was so busy. A thought struck her. "To pick me up, have you been overworking yourself these past few days without proper rest?"

He had never expected to fall for such a woman. What else could he do but dote on her? "Alright, I promise," Huo Jingrui said, his heart melting.
