Charles frowned, his voice low and firm.

To bolster his argument, he explained Daniel’s current condition.

As Charles spoke, he saw Emily suddenly pull open Daniel’s shirt.

Emily pressed on Daniel’s wound, causing a slight bleed. The blood wasn’t bright red but had a dark hue.

The poison seemed to have penetrated deep into his system.

She was so focused on her examination that she didn’t notice Daniel slowly opening his eyes.

Emily smirked slightly. Having such a cooperative patient was a pleasure for any doctor.

She glanced at Charles.

Before starting the acupuncture, she softened a bit, considering his genuine concern for his friend, and said, “Eighty percent chance.”

“I mean, full recovery!”

She paused deliberately before adding.

Charles was incredulous, then overjoyed, “Are you serious?”

This illness had tormented Daniel for years. If it could be cured, even a billion dollars would be worth it, let alone following her lead in the future.

Emily didn’t know Charles’s thoughts. Otherwise, she might have found it an appealing proposal.

Instead of answering Charles, Emily pulled open Daniel’s shirt and swiftly and accurately placed silver needles around the wound.

Charles knew that interrupting a doctor during treatment was taboo.

But his brows relaxed.

Through the mask, knowing her serene and ethereal appearance, he couldn’t help but imagine her face with that same focused and calm expression.

“Hang in there!”

Emily warned as she finished the last needle.

She then used a silver needle to prick Daniel’s finger and placed a glass container from her medical kit under it.

Blood dripped from the cut.

Charles leaned in closer, frowning.
